Tracy May 15, 2012 for Model Number GFSL6KKX-BLS I have the GFSL6KKX-BLS GE Fridge and I am having issues with the ICE maker. It appears that it fills with water fairly quickly after dumping ice to the tray. Problem is that it will only dump Ice randomly and most of the time the tray is empty. by randomly I am talking about maybe 1 time a week! I assume it may be a faulty Ice Maker Assembly (AP4321616) but I would not know how to rule out things like the Auger motor etc. Any trouble shooting tips to narrow it down?
1 Answer Hello Tracy. If the icemaker is not cycling properly and not dumping all the ice, it sounds like the icemaker assembly WR30X10097 is the issue with the unit. You need to make sure the freezer is around 0° also. Read More...
Bob B May 09, 2012 for Model Number pfsf6pkxabb It appears the all I have to do to replace icemaker AP4321616 is to depress the pull tab on the top front of the old maker, pull it away from the back of the unit and dissconnect the electrical connector. Then reverse the process with the new one. Is it really that simple or am I missing something??
1 Answer Bob, You didn't miss it by much, here you go " To remove the icemaker: 1. Remove the Ice bucket. 2. Remove the Phillips-head screw that attaches the front of the wire harness cover. 3. Using a small fl at blade screwdriver, pry the front of the cover out, then pull the cover towards the front of the refrigerator. 4. Note the routing of the icemaker wire harness, then disconnect the harness. 5. Push in the release tab on the front of the icemaker, then pull the icemaker out of the ice room. Note: When installing icemaker, engage key slots in key tabs before pushing icemaker in place." Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Chuck April 26, 2012 for Model Number PFSS6PKWASS The plastic swing arm broke off near the ice maker and the unit no longer makes ice. I can despence ice through door by adding bagged, small-size ice into tray. Is this repairable or do I replace the ice maker? Any guidance on removing and replacing unit?
1 Answer Hello Chuck, There are no replacement parts available for this style ice maker. The only fix for it is to replace the complete ice maker assembly WR30X10097. To replace the ice maker assembly, remove the ice bin and look at the bottom left side of the opening the bin had occupied. There is a single Phillips head screw that must be removed. Once removed, hook it with a small screwdriver and pull it toward you. It will slide out and off of the clip in the rear. Disconnect the wiring harness and depress the tab at the front center of the ice maker and pull forward at the same time. The installation is the exact opposite. Read More...
Mark H. March 05, 2012 for Model Number PFSS6PKWBSS In order to replace the icemaker on this unit what connections will I have to disconnect? Is there only an electrical plug pack? Is there a water line connection also that will need to be disconnected and reconnected? Thanks
1 Answer Hi Mark. Turn off the ice maker switch. Then reach in back of the ice maker to un clasp the electrical connecter in by the back wall. There is a center side "lock" that needs to be depressed as you pull the connecter away from the back wall. Un bolt the upper 2-screws and one lower front screw. Replace the ice maker part # WR30X10097. Remember the ice maker will have to reach freezer temperatures in order for the water to fill the ice maker tray for the first time. Thank You. Read More...
James February 06, 2012 for Model Number PFSS6PKWBSS I have a GE Profile model #PFSS6PKWBSS, serial #ARO71260 refrigerator. The ice maker doesn’t work. It made a couple batches of smallish ice cubes a few days ago, but now it has quit altogether. I used to hear the water run as it was refilling the tray, but now nothing. I still hear it thumping as if it is attempting to eject ice, but no ice. I replaced the filter, nothing. I removed the filter and replaced it with the bypass plug, no difference. There is plenty of water pressure, but no ice. The amount of water collected in the flow test was 24 ounces in 20 seconds. The unit isn’t that old.
1 Answer Hi James. Do you hear the freezer fans working ? You need to make sure the lt. side fan is working up to normal speed. It pushes the freezer air up into the ice maker housing and cooling the inside of the housing to produce ice. The feeler arm on this model stays up. It turns off and on through the unit, not the arm. The temperature inside the freezer determines the amount of ice being produced. If the unit is not operating properly, you may need to replace the ice maker WR30X10097.Freezer temperature needs to be no colder then 0° or it will bind up parts. Thank You. Read More...
G W. January 29, 2012 for Model Number pfss6pkwbss How do you remove ice maker AP4321616 ? It makes ice but leak a little water witch builds up over time.....
1 Answer Hi G. If the water valve gets sediment in the mechanical part of the valve, then it stays open even if it is not energized electrically from the ice maker. Part # WR57X10082. Make sure the house water supply is not kinked. Thank You. Read More...

Charles G. P. July 02, 2011 for Model Number pfsf6pkxabb Ice maker part # WR30X10097 Does the swing arm on the side of the ice maker move freely up and down; and if so, what is the distance of travel. Mine does not appear to be down at all. I get some ice, but have always had to buy extra ice with this thing even when new. This swing arm appears to be stuck in the "off" position. I can move it up and down, but it springs right back up. Thanks
