Jo P August 19, 2013 for Model Number Pfss6pkwass Hi...my ice maker started producing very little ice, when it did produce it seemed to be clear in color instead of white-ish clear like it usually was..we cannot even get the bin door to come out though to check the problem...it will not budge...I have searched and searched the web to see if anyone else has had this particular problem...cannot find a thing...please help!!! The ice also taste funny, the filter was changed 2 months ago...
1 Answer Jo, To remove the ice bin, you will want to push the button on the side and may have to pry the bin out to remove. You will then want to see if there is ice that has melted and refroze that caused the bin to be difficult to come out. You will also want to check to make sure that the water line coming to the icemaker is not frozen or that the fill cup is not frozen. Read More...

I would hate to go through returning it if it doesn't work. ___________ I have a GE Profile Fridge (PFSS6PKW) and the ice maker is inop. Can I replace my current ice maker (GE WR30X10097) with a Samsung DA97-05422A (Aka IMC701). I understand cost is the only difference? Tom October 19, 2012 for Model Number Pfss6pkwbss No ice production. Good water pressure on door dispenser. No problem with cooling in freezer or fridg. Maintains -2 and 38 degrees. I was told problem is probably a fan in the freezer section. Is there a test procedure for this fan? Are replacement instructions available for this fan? Thanks for any suggestions
1 Answer Hi. Make sure the fill tube is not back filled with ice and blocking the water fill. If so then replace the water valve part # WR57X10082. Remove the fill tube part # WR02X12750. Clear the ice with warm sink water and dry the fill tube. Make sure the ice maker part # WR30X10097 is connected tightly. Reset the ice paddle ON/Off. The ice maker fan is part # WR60X10255 if it is not turning. The blade is part # WR60X10264. Thank You. Read More...

1 Answer Hello Jim. Based on the information you provided, you will need to check the fan inthe freezer and see if it is running properly.
