Gregory July 22, 2019 for Model Number PDW7880J10SS My dishwasher appears to be leaking through the plastic housing attached to the motor which houses the Impeller and seals. Can't locate this part to buy separate of the motor? Is that possible?
1 Answer Gregory, unfortunately, the housing itself is only available as part of the motor assembly WD26X10053. However, if the leak is occurring at a seal, the seal kit WD19X10038 can be used to repair the issue. Read More...
Tim June 27, 2018 for Model Number GSD2300R00WW My dishwasher isn't draining. I unclogged the drain line, took off all parts under the dishwasher to make sure nothing was clogged. Ran the water and then before draining opened the door and used a screw driver to push the safety switch so it would run with the door open. It appears like air is coming back into the tub from the pump. What would cause this?
1 Answer Tim, You'll need to check the drain solenoid, linkage and the "Drain Flapper" inside the WD19X10020 Pump Housing. Occasionally the flapper will "shift on the shaft, or the shift lever will "round out" and the flapper will not open and close properly and create drain or wash issues. Read More...
Saver October 01, 2017 for Model Number GSD4000R00WW The dishwasher makes a loud grinding noise during wash and draining. This happened previously and I had a technician come out and something was stuck under the impeller and bent it some. The tech cleaned it and straightened the impeller and it worked fine again for several months. Then the noise started again but there was nothing in the drain area. I removed the impeller blade and ran a cycle and it was fine. Put the blade back in and the horrible noise started again when the motor came on. The blade sits snugly (like too snug to me) on the screen and I can't get it to spin other than screwing or unscrewing. Is the issue mostly just the blade being warped or the motor that the blade is attached to. The rest of the washer works as expected (things spin, spray, drain, fill) and there are no leaks. If it is just the blade, can I buy that separately? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Saver. Based on the information you provided, you will need to order and replace the impeller and seal kit WD19X10038 on the unit. Thanks. Read More...
Rodney August 28, 2017 for Model Number PDW8200J10BB Dishwasher is leaking water from door corner. I replaced the tub seal but it still leaks. I noticed the rubber seal along the bottom inside of the door is deteriorated, but I cannot find it in the parts breakdown in order to order it. Is this the possible leak, and if so, how do I order it?
1 Answer Rodney, Yes the lower gasket could be causing the leaking issue and would need to replace the inner door of the unit to get the gasket as it is not sold separately. The part number for the inner door is WD31X10042. Read More...
Adam January 19, 2017 for Model Number GSD2100V35WW A couple years ago the dishwasher stopped cleaning well and would not drain all the way. As a result, I stopped using dishwasher altogether. Recently, I decided to diagnose the problem and now it does not circulate or drain at all. The pump motor hums. I tried to turn the motor shaft by spinning the fan blades and it was fairly difficult. I removed the drain hose and sump to check for clogs, but did not find any. An electrical check of the motor showed it is not shorted and the resistance through the windings is 15 ohms. I then took off the impeller and found the motor shaft spins freely by hand. Re-installing the impeller locks up the shaft again. Will replacing the seal fix this problem? Or is there a lubricant that will help? Thank you.
1 Answer Adam, Based on the information it sounds like the issue will be the seal kit on the unit. The seal may be dry and causing this issue. Read More...
Tazo December 12, 2014 for Model Number GLC4100N10WW My ge dishwasher is not getting the dishes in the upper rack clean, also the middle spray arm is not spinning. How do I fix this.
1 Answer Tazo, The first check should be the water level and temperature. Start a regular wash cycle, let the dishwasher fill and wash for 3 to 5 minutes then unlatch the door and remove the lower dish rack. The water level in the left hand side of the bottom of the tub(the float area) should be 3/4 to 1 inch in depth and have a temperature of 120 dgrs.F. If the water level is too low, you won't have enough water in the unit to properly pressurize and circulate the water to wash the dishes. You would need to check or replace the water inlet valve WD15X10003 Read More...
Kent July 07, 2014 for Model Number GSD4000R15BB My dishwasher seems to work fine but makes a light grinding noise when it's draining or about to drain (light grinding noise started a few months ago). I figure maybe it's the impeller seal kit that I need? Can stuff get stuck in those parts and cause a grinding sound? thanks for any help! Kent
1 Answer Hello Kent, You should tear the unit down and check the impeller area for debris. Many of these cases do not even require parts to correct. Just have to remove a bread tie or something from the impeller area to correct the sound. Read More...
Willy March 23, 2014 for Model Number gsd3300rrooww How many ohms should I get when checking the motor. Also does the motor control the wash cycle as well or just the pump. My machine is draining but not all the way.
1 Answer Willy, you should have a resistance of approximately 40 ohms through the motor winding. Yes, the pump motor does "control" both, the wash and drain cycles. Drain is accomplished by the drain solenoid WD21X10268 on the pump assembly . when the timer/control board advances into the drain cycle, the solenoid activates, flips the flapper inside the pump assembly and the machine drains. If you haven't checked yet, you'll need to verify that there are no clogs in the drain hose, remove the sump cover and check for clogs and debris in the sump. If all's OK, you'll need to remove the pump assembly and check or replace the impeller assembly for damaged vanes. Read More...
Richard February 23, 2014 for Model Number PDWF480P00SS I am having problem with water pressure to all arms. I completely disassembled everything (down to the entire motor assembly) and thoroughly removed all sediment and debris. I reassembled everything and started a rinse cycle. I stuck a screw driver into the door to trick it so I could hold the door open and watch it run. When the pump kicked on, the spray was strong but then quickly diminished to where the middle arm was moving in a circle really slow and the water shooting out was medium pressure. (Yes I got very wet doing this but I had to see what was going on). My question: Is this related to the circuit board not providing a consistent current to the motor or is it the motor? I am at my wits end. Please help.
1 Answer Richard, You will want to make sure that the water fill is proper and if not then this would cause the issue with not having good pressure. The other thing that would cause this on your unit would be the impeller assembly causing the issue. Read More...
Denny November 25, 2013 for Model Number HDA2000V00WW Hotpoint Dishwasher will not drain, the wash cycle seems to be working correctly,(water goes in the unit),& I can hear the water spraying inside, but when it comes time to drain, unit will not pump out the water. The solenoid arm is working up,& down,I took the impeller assembly apart, & didn't notice any wear patterns.Would an impeller repair kit possibly resolve the problem? *I have a clear piece of hose spliced into the drain hose,& when the unit is trying to drain, I can see the water fluctuate back, & forth approximately 1/4"
1 Answer Hello Danny. No, if the impeller did not look bad, and the solenoid is working, replace the motor assembly on the unit. Read More...
