Causes of a bad middle spray arm can include clogged spray holes inhibiting proper water coverage, worn ball bearings reducing spray force, or broken or missing spray arm attachment clips.

Symptoms of a bad middle spray arm include:

  • Items on middle racks not receiving sufficient cleaning
  • Dried food or soap scum buildup is visible on rack shelves and dishes
  • The arm fails to rotate or spin during cycles

This OEM GE replacement is compatible with many GE, Hotpoint, and Profile dishwasher models.

My dishwasher does a terrible job cleaning tall stuff in the top rack. It uses this part: Kit - Mid Spray Arm Hub Item Number: AP3777929 From the bottom it looks like the picture here: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/Appliance-Parts/ge-kit-mid-spray-arm-hub-item-number-ap3777929.aspx But from the top is looks totally different - with only one hole at each end. I'm wondering if somehow the people who owned the house before me broke it somehow. From the top it looks unfinished, and very strange to me that there are only two holes at the tips - that means nothing is spraying up into the top rack from below. Does the top and bottom of this part look the same? Thanks, Mike Read more: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/Appliance-Parts/ge-kit-mid-spray-arm-hub-item-number-ap3777929.aspx#ixzz26NbRdUOC http://www.appliancepartspros.com

Hello Mike! According to the photo and the diagram, the image we have of the mid spray arm hub kit WD35X10054 is the top part which sprays items on the top rack from the bottom. This unit also has an upper spray arm WD22X10084 which sprays the upper rack from the top of the dishwasher. Unfortunately, the images we have are the only images we have available to verify what the other side looks like. Tried using google however, all pictures are the same as what we have listed. Thanks.

Hello Amy. If the arms are clogged, and you can not clean them out, yes, you will need to replace the spray arms on the unit.

Hello Amy. You need to check and make sure the water is filling up properly to the bottom of the heater assembly. If the water level is low, you will need to replace the water valve on the unit. Also, make sure the get the water hot at the sink before starting the unit.

Thanks for the answer above, but I did check the center wash arm for clogs, none there, water will flow freely if it gets there. The curious part of this is that the upper smaller wash arm spins like crazy, so it seems the water is flowing up the feed line in the back of the dishwasher...but the center arm does not spin...HELP. It seems an impeller replacement would be a waste, since the uppermost arm is spinning...does the water go to the upper arm first? I does not seem all that sophisticated, if the upper arm gets water shouldn't the middle arm get water also?

Hello Lee. You will need to check and make sure the fine filter and all the components are clean and clear on the sump assembly, and check the impeller and see if it is bad. Actually the water travels up the manifold and would spray at the top with force, then the pressure is built to spray out of the middle with force. If there is not enough force, the middle spray arm WD35X10054 is larger than the top and would not have the force like the top spray arm would have. It sounds like a filter or water issue inside the dishwasher. Hope this helps.

Hello Lee. Remove the spray arm WD35X10054 and make sure the holes are not clogged with debris in the unit. If the holes are clogged, it will cause the unit not to spary and turn. Hope this helps.

Hello Perry. You will need to get the hub nut locked into place to hold the spray arm on. If it does not secure, the spray arm will fall off. This is the only information the manufacture provides for this part. Hope this helps.
