Manufacturer Part Number: WB03K10265

The Knob Assembly is an OEM part for GE gas ranges. The knob regulates cooktop burner temperatures. Color: metallic. It measures about 2 inches in diameter.

Causes relate to unavoidable heat stress and abrasion from everyday cooking tasks gradually wearing down plastic and metal interface points over 10+ years. Regular cleaning chemicals may also degrade markings prematurely.

Symptoms of a bad knob assembly include:

  • Loose, wobbly or detached knob disconnecting from valve stem
  • Knob difficult to rotate between settings or accidentally changing positions
  • Faded or damaged markings inhibiting visual confirmation of settings
  • Non-responsive rotation failing to adequately valve gas flow

This GE OEM replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

For Ge Knob Assembly (Part Number: OEM13091022)

Mike for Model Number CGS990SET1SS

My GE stove needs a new knob as the black plastic shaft broke at the connection to the plastic plate that screws onto the metal knob. I believe it’s part number wb03k10265. As I understand it, this assembly has to be purchased (knob and shaft) as I cannot just buy the plastic stem (which is ridiculous by the way). I also understand it should just pull off the valve stem. However, it seems stuck and I’m not sure how much pressure I should use to remove it. Can you provide some insight?

Hello Mike, there is a small "c" shaped spring clip that adds some tension inside the plastic shaft so that the knob does not just slip off the valve stem. The plastic shaft should just pull straight out, there is no other fastener used. The knob is only offered by the manufacturer as an assembly.

Fieldsbenjamin, This should just be a matter of pulling the old knob off and sliding the new knob onto the shaft of the valve.

Katie, For a proper diagnosis, we would need you to please verify the model number from the units' I.D. tag since it will not come up for us as a valid model number.

Marion, loosening the mounting screws could be helpful, the thermostat could be forced against the mounting plate or panel and stuck wont turn. We would suspect a faulty lower oven thermostat, but try loosening the screws first.

Hello Joe, The replacement knobs WB03K10265 are priced by the manufacturer individually. I'm sorry but the manufacturer has not provided us with the specifications on what material they used to produce these parts. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Ed, Unfortunately to get this black piece you would have to get the knob as it is not available separately.

Hello Joel. The different is the markings on the knob. The power burner shows where it is and the others do not have that marking.
