Doug April 06, 2012 for Model Number DDE7200SBLWW The plastic shaft on the starter knob has snapped off clean flush with the dryer. From the other questions here it looks like it's called the start switch shaft on the start switch. For model dryer, what part do I need to order to replace it and how do I install it? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Doug. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the start switch WE4X782 is bad. You will need to remove the cover on the back of the control panel to access and replace the switch. Make sure the power is disconnected before doing the repair. Be sure and plug the wires on the new switch to the same location as the old switch. Hope this helps. Read More...

Roger October 27, 2011 for Model Number DBXR453GT5WW The Fabric Care Knob on my dryer broke. When I removed the panel to look behind where the knob attached a red wire connected to the rotor switch broke in half. Any advice on how to fix this problem, both the knob and the wire?
1 Answer Hi Roger. The almond knob is part # WH1X2721. For white knob use WH1X2721, for black knob use WE1X1206. As for any wire that has snapped in half, treat it with respect and remove power. Use wire stripper/crimper tool part # MA-30428 and strip each end 3/16" and use a butt splice connector to adhere the wire together again. Part # TJMA02522-1. Thank You. Read More...
Rachel October 03, 2011 for Model Number AP2044893 The start switch on my dryer is broke. The knob fell off about 2 years ago, and we've been using plyers to turn the metal knob to dry our clothes. Well, we have worn the metal stem out, and now it's broken off. Are those easy to replace? Also, can you take the metal piece out, to replace with a new, and add a new knob? Thank you, Rachel :-)
1 Answer Hello Rachel! If the shaft on the start switch itself has broken the start switch will need to be replaced as well as the broken knob. We will need your appliance model number to verify the correct part numbers used on your appliance. Thanks! Read More...
Kristen September 19, 2011 for Model Number 123C7931-2 This looks like the knob I need, but I also need the switch shaft and d-shaped shaft that holds the knob on the dryer. I have looked and looked and cannot seem to find what I am looking for. Above under model number is the part number. I have a GE High Capacity Dryer approx 10 years old. I do not know the model number of the dryer. Can you help me get the parts I need and give me a price for them along with shipping? Than you so much.

Eva August 06, 2011 for Model Number DBXR453 The start knob on my machine is not working -- seems like a piece around the inside of the knob broke. I am hoping its only the knob and not the rotary piece inside, but I put the fabric care knob on the start button since they seem to look the same to me and the machine still didn't start -- are these two buttons compatible -- I hope not, and all I need is a new start button.
1 Answer Eva, I don't see separate knobs listed, and the switch shafts appear to be the same dimensions, You are sure the metal "knob insert" in the back opening of the knob is in position inside the knob ? I'd be surprised if the issue is in the knob or the start switch. You may want to consider the door switch WE4M415 or possibly check and reset the breakers in the panel a few times. Thanks and Good Luck. Read More...
