Edward2 February 15, 2017 for Model Number JT980SOH1SS I have a GE Profile double wall mount overn - Tri-vection - Model JT980SOH1SS. the other day we noticed the display was completely blank and it would not respond to any touch. The only thing that was operational was the lower oven light. After checking for proper AC I looked over the electronic boards and I noticed the main power board had a SINGLE component blown apart. The part is labeled U2 and that part number is TOC247YN which I believe is some sort of high power switching MOSFET. Does anyone know what may have caused this part to blow apart? I looked over the other circuit control boards and could not find anything else that looked burnt or out of the ordinary. I also plugged the oven back into AC without the main power board. I then checked the AC coming in on the connector cable leading to the main power board and all seemed ok.
1 Answer Edward, We aren't able to assist you or make recommendations, other than basic checks to the wiring and components. AppliancePartsPros.com, as well as other servicers or parts distributors don't have access to printed circuit board blue prints or diagram/schematics, those are proprietary information for/by the manufacturers. We can recommend you trace the circuit tracers and determine what circuit was involved, check the wiring and components in the circuit, and replace the appropriate part(s). Thanks, Read More...
Craig January 02, 2017 for Model Number 980SK1SS I have a GE Trivection Oven. By all accounts, the MPB needed replaced(front display dead, lower oven light would illuminate). So, I ordered the replacement part, WB27T10551 and installed it. Upon doing so, the front panel illuminates and seems to activate the appropriate functions as evidenced by relay audible sounds. However, the heating elements will not activate. I checked several voltages as recommend by the document that came with the oven. It would seem the relays are not being fed power. I checked all the way back to one of the wiring harnesses and found there to be no voltage at the four prong plug which feeds K11 and K7 relays. Upon probing the mains side of this plug, the new MPB seems to have failed as there is now no front panel display and the lower oven light will work. Does this make sense?
1 Answer Craig, It is possible that you have received a defective control board and would need to get a replacement board. Read More...
Wesley C May 05, 2016 for Model Number jt980s0k3ss Thanks for rapid delivery of this main board. Great service as always. I just replaced a bad board, and oven is operational again. Is there a diagnostic mode/test that I should verify against before I put the oven back into the wall? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Wesley. No, just try out the unit and make sure it is working properly. If so, then you will need to install the wall oven into the unit. Read More...
Gary March 31, 2016 for Model Number JS998SK3SS Why would the cook top work and the oven not; control panel doesn't light up and the oven does not heat up?
1 Answer Hello Gary. Test for power to the main board. If there is power there, and the board does not come on, you will need to replace the main board on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Suzi December 10, 2014 for Model Number jt980b0h1bb Hello, its Suzi again (see previous question). I ordered the front touch screen and replaced it, as you suggested, after my first question. It did not fix my problem and I am now out quite a bit of money. What do you suggest I do now? I still have a very hard time pushing the numbers on the touch screen, mainly on the bottom left of the screen. Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Suzi. The buttons are controlled by the front panel. If they are still non responsive, you may want to look at the way the ribbon cable is connected to the control board in the unit. If it is not correct, the buttons will not work properly. Read More...
Suzi April 24, 2014 for Model Number General Electric JT980BH1BB The touch screen is very difficult to push on the left side of the left lit panel. The right side of the left panel works, but the left one is very difficult. I can usually eventually get it to work by rolling my finger around and going back and forth. Any idea what the problem is and what I need to buy to repair it? Thanks!
1 Answer Suzi, The units keypad not working correctly will be caused by a bad keypad which the control panel WB27T10565 would need to be replaced. Read More...
John November 27, 2013 for Model Number GE trivection double oven JT980COH1CC How do I remove the control panel faceplate on GE trivection double oven JT980COH1CC? I have removed the 3 screws under the faceplate, and I now have play at the bottom but the top is fixed by a feature that I cannot see. I am afraid to break something by using too much force. I have an upper oven clicking issue, and am trying to get to and buy a replacement for the relay causing it.
1 Answer John, There are hooks at the top of the control panel and when you pull the bottom out a little you will then push straight up to release from the hooks. Read More...
Charles M. November 20, 2013 for Model Number jt930owoh1ww I have a GE Profile single wall oven with trivection. The display is out and nothing works. The oven is energized with 246 volts (each ungrounded conductor to ground is 123 volts). I checked the fuse and it is good. Both acL1 to ground and acL2 to ground coming off the main control board is only 102 volts. Is this correct, or should the main control board supply 123 volts?
1 Answer Hello Charles. It is a little low on the voltage. Check the terminal block in the unit and see if it is bad. Read More...
Jim S December 18, 2012 for Model Number JT980SK3SS There is significant relay clicking noise when the upper oven is turned on. The oven still heats and holds temp, just makes a lot of noise. Clicking even occurs when the oven is cooling down. The sound appears to come from the main power board, but I can't be sure. Would replacing the main power board help? or is there someplace else I should look for the problem?
1 Answer Hello Jim, Based on information it does sound like the relay on the power board WB27T10551 may be causing the clicking noise. Read More...
Anoush F December 01, 2012 for Model Number JT930S0K3SS Our Oven touch screen does not work and oven will not operate at all. only clock works but non- of touch button works. I Think Main power board is bad. I tried to take power off for 10 minutes to see if it will be resetting itself. but no luck. Thanks for any professional respond.
1 Answer Hello Anoush, You may want to check your connections from the touch pad to the main control. Normally it is the touch pad that goes bad when it is a problem with touch pad WB29T10062. You would also normally get an error code that would come up which would make it easier to determine what has failed. Read More...
