The Orifice Spud is an OEM part for GE ranges and cooktops. It is a small, precise component responsible for regulating the flow of gas to the burner, ensuring a controlled and efficient flame for cooking. This spud is essential for maintaining the correct gas pressure and flame size.

Over time, orifice spuds can become clogged or damaged due to residue buildup, corrosion, or improper cleaning. These issues can lead to inefficient burner performance or safety hazards.

Symptoms of a bad orifice spud include:

  • Uneven or weak burner flames
  • Difficulty in igniting the burner
  • Yellow or flickering flames
  • Gas odors near the burner area

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

For Ge Orifice Spud (Part Number: OEM6080742)

Greg, When you say gas does not flow, have you tried turning on the burner and lighting it with a match or lighter? If you turn the valve on and that burner does spark like it is designed to do then I would remove the orifice and see if gas flows. The only reason a orifice would cause this is if it were clogged with debris. I believe you will have a valve issue. If the burner doesn't spark then probably the switch harness is the problem. Hello Greg, You will need to order the orifice holders to obtain the natural gas orifices WB28K10786, WB28K10735, WB28K10736, WB28K10389, and WB28K10737. You will not need to replace the complete tube assemblies but you can remove the orifices and install them in the correct locations. Be sure to do this one at a time, making sure they are installed in the correct locations. You will also need to convert the regulator by removing the cap and removing the center nut. This will be flipped over and the cap installed in the opposite fashion than it is now. You will then need to adjust the orifice hoods for the bake and broil by turning them 1 1/2 to 2 turns counterclockwise and adjust the yellow tipping from the flames by adjusting the air shutters.

Hello Jason! The manufacturer doesn't offer the orifices separate from the gas tubes. You'll need to order part number WB28K10191, WB28K10192, WB28K10190 and WB28K10188. You'll have to flip the cap on the pressure regulator WB19K10044 to NG and turn the orifice mounted on the valve 2 1/2 turns counter-clock wise and adjust until you get a blue flame. Hope this helps!
