Veronica October 03, 2011 for Model Number EGR3000ED3BB Ok here is the question. We have a GE gas oven that isn't that old, under 15yrs. That has not in the last 8 years kept the correct temp. always 50 degrees off. Now the oven comes on for a sec. Then goes back off. The self cleaning oven doesn't work either. Is it the igniter or the thermostat? If it is the igniter is there a better one to buy that wont have problems right away? Help please..

Robert September 23, 2011 for Model Number JGBP30BEA5WH The stove burner will not ignite and will not glow when the oven is tured on. I have noticed the stove burner igniter is the flat style and the broiler burner igniter is round style is this correct? If so what is the part number I'm looking for?
1 Answer Robert, Our parts diagram show the same igniter is used on both the bake and broil burners WB2X9154 . In most cases, the "flat " style igniter operates on 3.2 amps and the "round" style operates on 2.5 amps, That could be part of the problem. Both burners should have the round igniter. Read More...

Dereje August 25, 2011 for Model Number maytag serface cooking I got same problem on my oven that the broiller is working good, but the baking is not working properly.
1 Answer Hello Dereje. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter WB2X9154 will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Linda August 22, 2011 for Model Number JGBP40BEC2WH Since neither the oven nor the broiler work, and they have separate igniters, then it's not likely that both are bad. I must have some other kind of electrical problem then? Thank you.

Linda August 22, 2011 for Model Number JGBO40BEC2WH Burners work, oven does not. I suspect it is the igniter, but not sure if there is a separate one for oven and one for broiler (after reading your other q&a)? I see one on top that is probably for broiler? Is it for oven too or is there one under the bottom plate for that? Thank you!
1 Answer Hello Linda. It sounds like you have 2 oven igniters WB2X9154. One for the broil in the top and one under the bottom plate for the bake. Hope this helps. Read More...
