Tom, Here's some information that should help you out " A common problem with these units is the piston and nut (Item 564 in Section 2). It is behind the rear filter assembly in the tub. It unscrews. Remove it and check that it is sealing. What happens if it does not seal correctly is that during drain some of the water goes back into the tub instead of out the drain. Hi Tom. I believe that the piston assembly unscrews and seperates. Yes I would reccomend removing the body valve from the tub assembly. Thank you.

Hello Dave! You will need to replace the piston and nut assembly WD24X10018 as it should spring back up. This could cause the unit from drain properly as it should. Also check the drain hoses and drain pump to make sure nothing has clogged up. Hope this helps!

Scott, If I understand you correctly,the debris should be on the white plastic screen on the chopper and nut side of the "filter", when you remove the sump cover and filter in the interior of the washtub bottom. There should be little to no debris on the other side of the plastic filter screen in the sump area. Hope this is helpful, Good Luck.
