Roy December 14, 2011 for Model Number PDW828JO1SS Similar to the above question, my washer fills but does not drain. When I put my ear to the door I hear a low hum. How do I check to see if the pump is clogged? I removed the vent cover and felt around but felt nothing. Any help is appreciated
1 Answer Hello Roy. You will need to un-install the unit and lay it on its back. Remove the drain pump WD26X10016 and see if ti is clogged. If so, you will need to clean out the drain pump assembly. 1 Answer Hi Jeff. There are a couple of things to check B/4 exanging the pump. Take a bucket and remove the drain hose from under the sink. See if it will drain into the bucket by either pressing drain or cancel. See if the hose is clogged with debris or is it clogged in the sink plumbing? Is the drain hose looped and attached to the uppermost part under the sink back wall? Then taught into the drain connection? Check the pump impeller to see if it spins freely on the pump shaft causing it to pump inneffectively. This part # is WD26X10016. Thank you. Read More...
