Scott August 14, 2013 for Model Number kenmore 363.16222100 dish washer Water enters the machine, but it seems to drain at the same time, and not fill enough to spray out the spray arms. Could a bad piston & nut assembly do this, or something wrong with the pump? The motor runs fine.
1 Answer Hello Scott. It sonds like the drain solenoid WD21X10060 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Ge Dishwasher July 21, 2013 for Model Number GE Potscrubber Dishwasher I've removed the old pump seal. The shaft is fairly rusted/corroded (~0.5 mm thick gone) near the motor side. Will a new pump seal still work? Or do I need to replace the entire motor? Obviously, I prefer to only replace the $20 parts Vs a $130 motor, but I don't want to have to do this again in a year. Any chance the new seal can work? If it helps any, I would be glad to send a picture of the shaft. Thanks!
1 Answer GE Dishwasher, For a thickness of .5 mm being gone off the motor shaft will not hurt anything and just need to replace the seal. Read More...
Craig May 20, 2013 for Model Number HOTPOINT HDA330Y73WW I am repairing a leaky pump to motor seal. I ordered the repair kit wd19x10032. While waiting for the parts to be delivered I am disassembling the pump. The motor unscrewed from the pump like I expected but the screen at the inlet side of the pump seems to be glued not twist locked in place. This unit is about 15 years old. Is this the case ? I know a replacement screen is included in the kit, do I cut out the old part? It is solidly bonded to the pump housing. I am hoping to avoid buying a whole new motor pump assembly.
1 Answer Craig, The screen should turn counter clockwise and to remove you may need to use a pair of needle nose pliers to get ahold of it to turn the screen. The screen does need to be turned off and you would not want to cut it off. Read More...
W R Fisher February 11, 2013 for Model Number ge gsd2000j01ww water does not pump out dish washer smells bad solenoid does kick in can turn pump impeller by hand found nothing on screen at pump
1 Answer W.R., Did you disconnect and check the drain hose for a clog or kink ? You may need to remove the motor and pump assembly and check for a damaged impeller WD19X10032 and varify that the interior flapper in the pump, opens and closes when the solenoid linkage is activated and deactivated. John January 09, 2013 for Model Number gsd880y-73ww I have a leak near the pump/motor and I assume that the problem is a seal. In following the guide to remove the old seal I am running into a different configuration. The video shows a blade while my unit has what looks like a spring wrapped around the shaft. It doesn't seem to unscrew. What's the trick to get it off? And is the kit listed compatible with my unit--your website suggests it is.
1 Answer Hello John, Yes the kit is compatible for this unit. The spring should unscrew from the shaft and just follow directions on the remaining components. You will have to hold the impeller and unscrew the spring from the shaft of the impeller. You may want to use needle nose pliers to do this. Read More...
Rod January 05, 2013 for Model Number Hotpoint HDB727K I am trying to get the pump apart before I order the rebuild kit,to be sure I can rebuild it. How is the plastic "screen" on the outside of the pump held in? Is it threaded or just pressed in? I don,t want to break it getting it out. It,s the part shown in the top left corner of the diagram for part# AP631386 that I,m talking about. Thanks for any help you can give me,Rod
1 Answer Hello Rod, This should be a twist lock for the screen on the pump. You would probably twist counter clockwise to remove. Read More...
Clint November 29, 2012 The spring inside the replacement seal pulls the shaft of the motor out so far, the blades of the motor grind into the back plate after I screw on the impeller. Am I missing a spacer? I didn't see anything different from the original parts.
1 Answer Hello Clint. If there is no spacer missing, it may be that the motor is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. You need to use all the parts sent in the kit WD19X10032. Read More...
Steve November 25, 2012 for Model Number gsd600g-01 Hey guy's , I have a G.E dishwasher ( pot scrubber 600 ) about 10 years old , and lately the dishes on the top rack have not been getting clean ,I've even tried washing dishes with the bottom rack empty and only the top rack loaded , now I've even fooled the door latch and looked in side the washer while it was running and verified the pop up tube is coming up and water is pumping out but not sure if the water pressure is enough . Thanks .
1 Answer Steve, The first thing to check, is the water level, and water temp. Start the dishwasher and let it run 3 to 5 minutes, unlatch the door and remove the lower rack, use a ruler and measure the depth of the water just in front of the lower sprayarm. The water depth should measure 5/8 to 1 inch in depth. Then check the water temperature, it needs to be at least 120 dgrs.F. on the first fill. There has to be enough hot water in the base of the tub to pressurize and move the water up to the upper sprayarm components. If all's OK, then remove the pump assembly and check the sump and impeller WD19X10032 for blockage or damage. Read More...
Bryan October 17, 2012 for Model Number GSD3600G00CC This is the correct model number for my previous question....Pump leaks water when running. Will the impeller kit fix the problem? THANKS
1 Answer Bryan, We're going to presume the pump leak is between the outer pump housing and the motor, in which case, Yes, the impeller / pump seal kit WD19X10032 will solve the issue. " Once you remove the motor and sump assembly from the dishwasher, its a matter of unscrewing the chopper blade, grate, ring etc. Then separate the sump housing from the motor and press the... more shaft seal out of the housing. Here's some help " Hold motor shaft, remove old cutter.Remove the grater by rotating clockwise. Remove wear ring and wear ring retainer. Hold the motor shaft and remove the old impeller by turning clockwise. Separate motor from pump by removing four(4) screws. Remove protective sleeve from the motor shaft if present, and discard. Press seal out of the pump housing from motor side of pump and discard. Install new seal assembly by pressing seal firmly in pump housing seal pocket. Make sure seal is completely seated in the pump housing pocket." Thanks Read More...
Travis June 30, 2012 for Model Number GSD880Y-70WW I just asked the last question regarding the top sprayer not spinning. In your response you mention the impeller and give part # AP631386. Is the top sprayer supposed to spin throughout the cycle whenever water is flowing to the bottom sprayer? Or is it only during a certain stage?
1 Answer Hello Travis. The top spray should spin all through the cycle. If the water level is coeerct in the unit, you need to replace the impeller. Read More...
