Sandra October 05, 2012 Hi. I want to know if this damper fits ge profile duplex model PSHS6YGXCDSS. The part is AP3775595.

1 Answer Hello Dale. If the damper assembly is not opening or closing properly, then the issue could be the damper assembly WR49X10091 in the unit. You will need to check and see if the thermistors WR55X10025 are bad on the unit. They should read around 10k at room temperature. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Randy February 08, 2012 for Model Number PSS27NGWAWW I suspect that my damper is stuck open because many things are freezing in the fresh food side; however, I don't know that it's not the thermistor. What is the best way to diagnose if the damper is stuck open? Should I just disassemble and check? Can I raise the temp on the fresh food side to see if the temp changes? Thanks
1 Answer Randy, Yes, you could reset the control to a warmer temperature and see if the temperature changes, but give it 24 to 48 hours to adjust and the temperature equalizes. Thermistors usually don't "fail" so I would start by checking the damper assembly, as long as you're sure theres nothing blocking the thermistor covers and the air flow around the shelves is OK, if the temperature does reset. here's some basic help "The fresh food compartment fan is located under the upper ductwork in the fresh food compartment. This fan distributes cold air from the freezer via the mullion damper. The mullion damper is located in the same assembly as the fan. Both are controlled by the processor. 1. Remove the deli fresh adjusting knob and light cover. 2. Unlock the upper and lower locking tabs for the center ductwork and remove. The ductwork is also fastened with double-sided tape at the upper and lower portions. 3. Remove the upper water filter cover. 4. Unlock the upper opaque light cover tabs and remove the cover. 5. Unlock the upper ductwork tabs and remove it.6. Remove the Phillips head screws (8) for the upper light assembly plastic bracket. 7. Pull the stainless steel light bracket down until the wires are exposed and disconnect them. 8. Remove the Phillips head screws (2) for the fresh food fan and damper cover and remove the cover.9. Lay the fan and damper assembly against the compartment and open the back cover. 10. Disconnect the wire connections and remove the damper or fan." Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Bill January 20, 2012 for Model Number GSS25LGMBWW I recently purchased the part AP3775595 (WR49X10091) - Refrigerator damper assembly for my refrigerator. After an easy installation, the fan is noticeably louder during operation than the original part that I replaced. It is quite loud when the refrigerator door is closed and when I open it and push the Switch Light, the fan is much louder than the original part. It does seem to be turning on and off as it should. Is the fan supposed to be very loud? I replaced the part because of the broken damper door.

Ryan January 20, 2012 for Model Number 6SS23WGTABB My freezer side of the refrigerator keeps frosting up so that my frozen food starts to thaw i started having this problem about 2 months ago, so I blew all the dust off of the underside and on the appliance and defrosted it, and now it is frosting up and not cooling, I have noticed a time or two that the lettuce in the fridge part had a little frost on it. So thats why I am not sure if its the door seal or something else.
1 Answer Hello Ryan. It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the back wall of the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. Fred December 29, 2011 for Model Number FRS26H5ASB5 Minimum temp in fresh food side is 60 deg F with thermostat on coldest. Freezer is working fine, making ice and totally cold.
