I can put the unit in service mode, but no devices turn on. You can cycle through all tests and none turn on. There is no led on the board lit up. This has happened before and one day it just started working again. When doing test there is no voltage applied to drain or circ pump. The panel however works and the 5v test location on board registers 5v. Not sure what else to test on this board. I feel its broken. If you do start a cycle the start button just starts blinking. Do I need a new board or is there something else I can test?

1 Answer

Tracy, Based on the fact that the control board is getting power to it but the unit will not come on and the start button flashes when trying to select a cycle, check the door switch first to make sure that is good and if it is then this will be a faulty main control board.

Hello Greg, either the main board did not see the door fully closed by the latch or there may be a wiring problem in the door wire harness that connects the U/I board to the main board under the dishwasher, also there is a service LED light on the man board that will flash a fault code if there is one, count the flashes in 3 sec duration.

Todd, Check the LED on the main control board under the unit and see the sequence that it is flashing. Then using the tech sheet check to see if there is an error based on the flash pattern.

Dishwasher would not start. Power cycling the dishwasher would get it working again but it lasted shorter and shorter times until that didn't work anymore. Replaced the UI board which didn't help and then replaced the main control board which also didn't fix it. No power at all to display or buttons. Service light on Main control board is solid green with both original and new main board - which isn't one of the listed choices on the service information sheet. (everything listed is flashing). . Thank you.

Hello AL, likely the wire harness in the door WD21X22916 that connects the boards is coming apart based on the parts replaced and the symptoms you have described.

Joe, Thanks for the question!!! The door switch is wired directly to the main control WD21X24900C. If the display is not lighting up you can test for voltage to the user interface WD21X31910. The voltage supplied is 13.5vdc on pins 1 and 2 on J401 connector of the user interface. If voltage is present then the UI is faulty. If you get no voltage you will want to check the wires and trace back to the main board and check to see where the voltage is lost. If no voltage is coming out of the main board it would need to be replaced.

Rachel for Model Number DDT700SMN0ES

I was getting an H2O error every time we tried to run the dishwasher. I replaced the inlet control valve and now I don’t get the H2O error anymore however the washer just stops at a random part of the cycle. Sometimes after 1-2 minutes and sometimes after 30-40 minutes. There is no error code or beeping when it stops. No error code when in service mode. I turned off power to the units to reset the control board. Does this sound like control board should be replaced?

1 Answer

Rachel, The first thing to check if the power shuts off completely will be the power supply to make sure that there is a good connection. If this is good then yes, it sounds like the control board would be the issue.

Steven, This issue does sound like it would be a faulty control board that is causing the unit to not start.
