For Ge Electronic Control Board (Part Number: OEM21564291)

Bryan for Model Number GDF610PMJ4ES

The problem started as intermittent, with door kept slightly open for ventilation and while closed/latched, machine would randomly turn on and beep and eventually turn off. It would sometimes lose power altogether for a while, and randomly turn back on. Cycling the circuit breaker would restore power to the machine while hard broke sometimes.... Now the machine is hard broke, no power, no LEDs, cycling door open/closed and breaker on/off does not reset. I confirmed input voltage is present to the machine. Ive tried to hold the start and select cycle buttons for 5-10 sec to reset but it also does not turn on the machine. What else should I check to determine which part to change?

Bryan, From your description it does sound like a possible main control board issue, however, I would use the tech sheet packaged with your machine and try running the service mode diagnostics. Proceed with the repairs based on the diagnostics (blinking LEDs)...if the board will not enter the diagnostics then the board will be the issue to start with.

Terry, the user interface WD21X31902C would need to be tested for 13.5 Volts DC from the black/green wire at pin 1 to the yellow/blue wire at pin 2. If there is voltage, the interface has failed and would need to be replaced. If there is not voltage, the main control WD21X24900C would need to be tested at the same wires located at the connection J722. If the voltage is there, the DC wire harness WD21X23416 has failed. If not, the main control has failed.

Dishwasher totally inoperative, no lights on display. Unplugged, door carefully/fully closed and it lit up. Thought defective tub side door latch switch so I changed that and unit worked for about a week. Then totally inoperative again. No lights at all. Confirmed power to the unit at the receptacle. Question: is this a symptom of a defective control board, defective UI board, or both? Anyway to diagnose further? Which part would you replace first based upon these conditions? Thank-You very much

Terry, the machine control WD21X24900C would need to be tested at the 5 wire connection J722 from the black/green wire at pin 2 to the yellow/blue wire at pin 5 for DC Voltage. If there is not 13.5VDC when power is applied to the dishwasher, the machine control has failed and would need to be replaced. If there is 13.5VDC, the user interface control WD21X31902C would be the most likely failure.

Rob, if the service machine control is sending voltage out to the user interface and there is not a broken wire, then the failure would certainly be in the user control.

Williams, Based on the description it sounds like the machine thinks the door is open, Check the door switches and the wiring connections, if all is good it would then likely be a board issue.
