The Service Machine Control is an OEM component specifically designed for GE dishwashers. As the main control board, it regulates all wash cycles including temperature, filtration, spray arm rotation, drying functions and end of cycle signals.

Causes of a faulty service machine control include normal wear and tear over time. Electronic failures or water exposure from plumbing issues can also trigger malfunctions.

Symptoms of a failing control board are:

  • Inability to progress through cycles fully
  • Flashing error codes during washes
  • Inconsistent wash and rinse performance
  • Component damage from power overload issues

Replacing it with this genuine GE OEM part restores optimal cycle handling. Proper controls are essential for sanitizing every wash. The part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA and some Kenmore models.

For Ge Service Machine Control (Part Number: OEM21647328)

Lucas, With no lights on the display, this would most likely be an issue with the UI control board. Even though the connections look good it does not mean that the control is good.

Dave B, Based on the information provided I would start with checking for a leak at the flood switch under the dishwasher..." a flashing Led is an indication that the control is waiting to start, or the door is open. If there is a leak detected the dishwasher will not start until the water is cleared from the floor protect pan. If there is no leak or water in the floor protect pan you could have a communications error with the board, check all connections to the board,"

Brian, The light on the control board should be flashing at least 1 time per second. This would indicate that it is in standby mode. If it is not flashing at all then this would be a software error and the control board will need to be replaced.

Hello Nick, I'm sorry but since replacement parts for appliances are listed by model number, we would have to have the model number from your units' I.D. tag to recommend parts that can be guaranteed to fit and work properly on your unit. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Hello Eric, normally doing that in mid cycle should not have affected the dishwasher. At this point you will need a multimeter, access the lower main control board and check for 120v at the J701 connector and inspect the board for any visible problems.

Den, the main control WD21X24901C at the bottom of the dishwasher should have a blinking LED showing the status of the machine. If this LED is not blinking, and there is a verified 120VAC going to the machine, then the main control has failed.

Tim for Model Number GDT655SMJ0ES

Hello. I have this GE dishwasher and it will not recognize the door being closed. The door light will not come on when the door is open or closed and when I close the door and push start both the start light and door light blink and the dishwasher beeps to indicate the door is open. I have disconnected power to try and reset but same thing. I checked the door switch and is operable. Just to make sure I even replaced the door switch. I went into the error code mode and it indicated door open also. Wondering if main control board is next option.

Tim, the wires would need to be inspected for loose connections and tested for continuity to ensure there are no breaks in the wires (from the main control to the latch). If the wires check good, then the failure would indeed be in the main control WD21X24901C.

Ryan for Model Number GDT695SMJ2ES

Hi, i have a GE GDT695SMJ2ES. every other day or so it will completely die, need to flip of the breaker for 10 mins or so and it comes back. No lights, no beeps, nothing. Randomly, when it is working, it will beep. between cycles, beeps every 3-4 hours. My question is do yall think its the main circuit (WD21X24901). or the UI circuit (AP6279241). When its unresponsive the top of the door has power (using a non-contact voltage tester). Thanks!

1 Answer

Ryan, We would suspect the WD21X31902C / WD21X23462 Kit Svc Ui Top Logic as the culprit. Based on the information, the U/I board has a "glitch" and causes the beeping, or go "dead". Removing and resetting the power resets the control boards(like rebooting a computer) until the U/I circuit fails and creates the issue again.
