This inlet sump is the lower-tub water intake for the circulation system. It channels wash water to the pump and seals the connection, helping prevent leaks and restoring proper wash performance when the original is cracked, warped, or clogged.

  • Directs wash water from the tub into the circulation pump
  • Maintains a watertight seal at the pump/sump opening
  • Common failure symptoms: water leaking from beneath the unit, poor cleaning results, unusual noise from the pump area
  • Visual clues: cracks, deformation, or mineral buildup on the sump inlet
What's included: 1 inlet sump Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off the water supply before servicing
  • Access is typically from inside the tub and/or the bottom; remove lower rack, spray arm, and sump cover as needed
  • Transfer existing clamps/seals and inspect gaskets; replace any worn seals for a proper fit
  • Seat the sump fully, secure connections, then run a short cycle to check for leaks

For Ge Inlet Sump (Dishwasher) (Part Number: OEM11626848)

Jeffrey, No, the WD18X10034 sump does not have a "clear plastic flapper" to let water in or keep it from draining out. As the dishwasher fills, water will also fill the sump assembly(first) then fill the tub. The WD12X10189 Check Valve and Hose Assembly is located under the bottom of the dishwasher tub one end of the assembly attaches to the sump assembly and the other end attaches to the drain pump. The check valve is designed as a safety or anti syphon device. it should keep the drain water or drain system water from backing up into the dishwasher in the event of a drain issue.

Hello Sandy. If the sump inlet WD18X10034 is leaking, then it should repair the issue. However, if the motor is leaking where it attaches, then you will need to replace the assembly WD26X10053. Hope this helps.
