Jeffrey Erceg August 19, 2017 for Model Number GLD4500N00WW Does the Sump Inlet (505) contain a clear plastic flapper valve to let water in and keep water from draining out? I watched a video which said it is supposed to have this flapper valve. I cannot tell from looking at the part blow up if this part contains one or not?
1 Answer Jeffrey, No, the WD18X10034 sump does not have a "clear plastic flapper" to let water in or keep it from draining out. As the dishwasher fills, water will also fill the sump assembly(first) then fill the tub. The WD12X10189 Check Valve and Hose Assembly is located under the bottom of the dishwasher tub one end of the assembly attaches to the sump assembly and the other end attaches to the drain pump. Sandy October 28, 2011 Model # is gld5500L00bb serial# LL729323b Also if replacing that doesn't fix leak what else could be the problem? Because leak definately seems to be coming from that part/area.
