The Suspension Rod & Spring Assembly is an OEM part for GE washing machines. This assembly helps support the washer tub, reducing vibrations and maintaining balance during the wash and spin cycles. It ensures that the washer operates smoothly and minimizes excessive movement.

Causes of a bad suspension rod & spring assembly can include wear and tear from regular use, damage from heavy or unbalanced loads, or corrosion over time. The springs can lose tension, and the rods can become bent or damaged, affecting the washer's stability.

Symptoms of a bad suspension rod & spring assembly include:

  • Excessive shaking or vibrating during the wash or spin cycle
  • Loud banging noises during operation
  • The washer tub appearing unbalanced or leaning to one side
  • Clothes not spinning dry effectively

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Hello BigB. Remove the front panel and remove the top of the washer. Then lift upward on the old rod and slip it out of the holder. Then you will drop it out of the bottom of the tub assembly. Reinstall with the new rod WH16X543 in reverse order. Hope this helps.

Will for Model Number wprb9110

GE Profile Washer variable speed motor: the Unit is aprox 6 yrs old and the tub seems to be doing an extra amount of the Hoola ... A LOT of banging around VIOLENTLY durring SPIN cycle, especially with heavy items like towels. Graping the agitator it is very easy to "rock the boat". No resistence to moving tub back and forth, side to side. I believe its something busted in the 2 suspension rod(s)like this one. These control the "out of balance" movment, true? What do you think? Thanks!
