Willis February 24, 2014 for Model Number Whdsr315daww When I turn on my washer it fills up with water but the agitator won't work you can hear the motor running but nothing moves.
Marie February 03, 2014 My agitator quit working. Thanks to Google a friend and I figured out it was the coupling that needed replaced. However, now the control button won't stay pushed in. It keeps popping out unless in an off position. Also, I've noticed that when a wash has completed water keeps dripping into the tub. Sometimes not right away but at random times. I've noticed that it seems to do this when the super load size has been used. It is a random issue but still worrisome. I've had my machine for about 8 years and have had issues in the past with it overflowing because of the water level control thingy seemed to be malfunctioning. I had that part replaced to the tune of $80+ just for the part (total rip-off because the machine kept overflowing!). A friend came and cleaned out a "debris net"(?) that was full of sand and it seemed to help for a while. So my question after all this rambling is, what parts do I need to replace for the control knob issue, the water dripping issue, and the over-flow issue?
1 Answer Marie, for the overflow and dripping it would more than likely be a failing inlet valve. However, we'll need your appliance model number to help determine the available parts and to help further trouble shoot. Please obtain this information and repost for further assistance. Thanks! Claudia January 11, 2014 for Model Number GE WASHER Mode l# WLSR2200J3WW, Ser # GR181839G My GE washer is overflowing the water wont stop until we turn it off. You think is the switch pressure, or my Timer because when I pull my control knob the timer dial is not turning. Please let me know what it is so I can order my parts. Thank You, Claudia
1 Answer Hello Claudia. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit. Read More...
Niki November 02, 2013 for Model Number wdsr2080deww Mod # wdsr2080deww ge washer My washer was not filling with water I googled it and it showed me how to take the front off and blow through the pressure chamber hose and switch and it worked. Now i have to do that at the beginning of the cycle and during the rinse process. What is going on? My husband is currently deployed so I am trying to repair on my own thanks in advance.
1 Answer Niki, Check for a clogged pressure dome and if it checks ok then the pressure switch would be faulty and need to be replaced WH12X10076. Read More...
Loren August 27, 2013 for Model Number WHDSR209DAWW My washer overflows, checked pressure switch, operating properly, the pressure switch hose was clogged with debris which I cleaned. The pressure switch hose that connects to the tub inlet housing is clogged, how do I get access to this small poly cover, is it removable? I would like to clean it out.
1 Answer Hello Loren. No, you can not remove it. You can use hot water and a turkey baster and flush out the pressure chamber. Read More...
Matthew G March 13, 2013 for Model Number WLDSR416F0WC My question or just my knack for wanting to know stuff is I was given this ge washer model number WLDSR416F0WC about a month ago and it worked perfect until recently. I was washing clothes 1 day and I noticed it leaked from the bottom just a little...once it started to drain or started to spin it would kinda stop..but now it floods the floor and no matter what u do to the cycle it won't slow down until all the water is on the floor or all went to the drain. Now sometimes the knob that controls the cycle selection on the far right of the machine like delicates, cottons, prewash sticks...once you turn it on for instance; turn the knob to cotton light load it will sometimes just keep on staying at that position without moving to drain and spin and most of the time you have to move it yourself to make it go to drain and spin...it doesn't do that all the time but most of the time it does...but no matter if the control knob for that sticks or not the bottom of the washer will leak regardless of what happens on the knobs...my dad says he replaced some kind of switch that went right behind that knob 1 year ago...my questions I should say is this.....1. Is the knob or switch the reason it sticks most of time and which one do I replace? 2. Is that knob or switch the reason why the washer leaks from the bottom? 3. What other switches or seals/gaskets are causing the leakage? 4. Since I cannot find anything on this particular washer on the ge website it must be outdated and not in stock/inventory anymore but it seems I can find parts on this website about it, is it worth replacing the switch and seals/gaskets or whatever is wrong with it or is it worth just buying a totally new one and trash this one that is in excellent condition except for this leak problem? 5. I already checked the drain hose outlet from the machine and cleaned it good and the actual hose to the drain pipe, plus I made sure the drain was the proper height and the pipe was not put more than 6 inches in the drain, is there something else there I might need to clean to fix this leaking problem or did that have anything to do with the problem because it was not that dirty nor was it plugged in anyway?
1 Answer Hello Matthew. Check and see if the water is coming from the plastic pipe on the left side of the outer tub assembly. If so, you will need to order and replace the flood gasket WH1X2729 on the unit. Read More...
Mike November 17, 2012 for Model Number WJRR4170G1WW When filling the washing machine tub, we used to be able to to push the control valve knob in to turn off the filling process and soak the clothes. When we push it in now, it pops back out. Is the pressure valve bad?
1 Answer Hello Mike, If you push in on the timer and it pops back out then you would need a new timer WH12X10348. The pressure switch is for water level. Read More...

Chuck C October 24, 2012 for Model Number Gtwp2000m0ww My parents have an issue with the tub not filling as far as you think it should for the level selected. The level isn't really low, just an inch or two lower than expected. Is there an adjustment screw on the back of the pressure switch to adjust the level some? Its hard to see from the photos and I Googled the heck out of the issue, but found nothing out there. Thanks in advance for your help and for an informative site! Chuck
1 Answer Hello Chuck. The screw to adjust is in front of the shaft and looks like a small bolt. Here is the deal. If you adjust it, a little is alot of water difference. So make sure you test it after you adjust it. Read More...
Diana August 01, 2012 for Model Number WPSR3100W1WW I have two problems.1.The water will not shut off keeps filling up it will only shut off if I shut off the main valve but it would agitate now it will not agitate too , already replaced timer.
1 Answer Hello Diana, Here is a test you need to perform. Turn the unit on so it is filling. Unplug the machine. If the water doesn't stop, replace the water inlet valve WH13X10024. If it does stop, replace the pressure switch WH12X10076. I suspect that the fill issue is the cause of the agitation issue. If it hasn't gone away when the fill issue is corrected, check the pressure switch as it is the most probable cause. If that isn't it, check the lid switch WH12X1043. Read More...
