This water level pressure switch monitors tub water height via air pressure and signals the controls to stop filling and move the cycle forward, helping prevent overfilling or underfilling for accurate load-size operation.

  • Detects water level through the attached air hose and internal diaphragm contacts
  • Signals the control to close inlet valves at the selected level and allows agitation/spin only when safe
  • Common symptoms: continuous filling/overfilling, stops filling too early/low water level, or no agitate/spin because the tub is sensed as "full"
  • May cause inconsistent or incorrect water levels across settings
What's included: 1 pressure switch Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and turn off water supply before servicing
  • Note or photograph wire positions and transfer to the new switch one-for-one
  • Inspect the pressure hose for cracks, kinks, or blockages; ensure an airtight fit on the switch port
  • Mount securely in the original location and test with a small load to verify proper fill and operation

Questions & Answers

For Ge Water Level Pressure Switch (Washer) (Part Number: OEM6137727)

Marie

My agitator quit working. Thanks to Google a friend and I figured out it was the coupling that needed replaced. However, now the control button won't stay pushed in. It keeps popping out unless in an off position. Also, I've noticed that when a wash has completed water keeps dripping into the tub. Sometimes not right away but at random times. I've noticed that it seems to do this when the super load size has been used. It is a random issue but still worrisome. I've had my machine for about 8 years and have had issues in the past with it overflowing because of the water level control thingy seemed to be malfunctioning. I had that part replaced to the tune of $80+ just for the part (total rip-off because the machine kept overflowing!). A friend came and cleaned out a "debris net"(?) that was full of sand and it seemed to help for a while. So my question after all this rambling is, what parts do I need to replace for the control knob issue, the water dripping issue, and the over-flow issue?

Marie, for the overflow and dripping it would more than likely be a failing inlet valve. However, we'll need your appliance model number to help determine the available parts and to help further trouble shoot. Please obtain this information and repost for further assistance. Thanks!

Hello Claudia. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit.

Niki, Check for a clogged pressure dome and if it checks ok then the pressure switch would be faulty and need to be replaced WH12X10076.

Hello Loren. No, you can not remove it. You can use hot water and a turkey baster and flush out the pressure chamber.

Matthew G for Model Number WLDSR416F0WC

My question or just my knack for wanting to know stuff is I was given this ge washer model number WLDSR416F0WC about a month ago and it worked perfect until recently. I was washing clothes 1 day and I noticed it leaked from the bottom just a little...once it started to drain or started to spin it would kinda stop..but now it floods the floor and no matter what u do to the cycle it won't slow down until all the water is on the floor or all went to the drain. Now sometimes the knob that controls the cycle selection on the far right of the machine like delicates, cottons, prewash sticks...once you turn it on for instance; turn the knob to cotton light load it will sometimes just keep on staying at that position without moving to drain and spin and most of the time you have to move it yourself to make it go to drain and spin...it doesn't do that all the time but most of the time it does...but no matter if the control knob for that sticks or not the bottom of the washer will leak regardless of what happens on the knobs...my dad says he replaced some kind of switch that went right behind that knob 1 year ago...my questions I should say is this.....1. Is the knob or switch the reason it sticks most of time and which one do I replace? 2. Is that knob or switch the reason why the washer leaks from the bottom? 3. What other switches or seals/gaskets are causing the leakage? 4. Since I cannot find anything on this particular washer on the ge website it must be outdated and not in stock/inventory anymore but it seems I can find parts on this website about it, is it worth replacing the switch and seals/gaskets or whatever is wrong with it or is it worth just buying a totally new one and trash this one that is in excellent condition except for this leak problem? 5. I already checked the drain hose outlet from the machine and cleaned it good and the actual hose to the drain pipe, plus I made sure the drain was the proper height and the pipe was not put more than 6 inches in the drain, is there something else there I might need to clean to fix this leaking problem or did that have anything to do with the problem because it was not that dirty nor was it plugged in anyway?

Hello Matthew. Check and see if the water is coming from the plastic pipe on the left side of the outer tub assembly. If so, you will need to order and replace the flood gasket WH1X2729 on the unit.

Hello Mike, If you push in on the timer and it pops back out then you would need a new timer WH12X10348. The pressure switch is for water level.

Hello Chuck. The screw to adjust is in front of the shaft and looks like a small bolt. Here is the deal. If you adjust it, a little is alot of water difference. So make sure you test it after you adjust it.

Hello Diana, Here is a test you need to perform. Turn the unit on so it is filling. Unplug the machine. If the water doesn't stop, replace the water inlet valve WH13X10024. If it does stop, replace the pressure switch WH12X10076. I suspect that the fill issue is the cause of the agitation issue. If it hasn't gone away when the fill issue is corrected, check the pressure switch as it is the most probable cause. If that isn't it, check the lid switch WH12X1043.
