David April 10, 2016 for Model Number 363.63699301 Advatium 120v power cut out in the middle of cooking. Power comes back on after about 20 min.
1 Answer David, The 2 most likely causes for the unit shutting down during the middle of cooking and then coming back on after about 20 minutes would be either a faulty cavity TCO WB20X10048 or the Low voltage transformer WB20X10023. Read More...
Ed C. November 05, 2015 for Model Number SCA1000DWW03 My advantium 120 is completely dead. I was told to check the fuse and the TCO's. The magnetron TCO is closed as I saw it opens at 302°. I was told by a tech that the hood TCO WB21x10045 was normally closed. The part in the oven is Open, and the replacement part I ordered arrived open, and another arrived open. So I am wondering about it is it open or closed?. If this part was open would that be the cause of a complete oven shut down? The only thing I did not test was the Wb21x10046 TCO, as it seems hard to get to. Again if this was bad would the oven completely shut down and is it normally open? Any other ideas are appreciated. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Ed, One of the thermostats behind the control panel is supposed to read open and the other closed. The oven cavity TCO WB20X10048 should read closed. This is the common one to fail although it is harder to reach. It does kill power to the units' control panel and the unit will do nothing. Note the tech sheet should be in the unit behind the control panel. It will have a wiring diagram on it which shows the units circuitry. Read More...
John October 10, 2015 for Model Number ZSC1001KSS01 Micro was sparking at tip of magnetron inside the oven behind the waveguide cover. Took magnetron out (the label on it reads: LG 2M246 050GF) and magnetron tip cover was partially melted. Took waveguide cover off and noticed it was burnt too. I am going to order a new waveguide cover. If I order a new magnetron (#73 on parts diagram - it is an LG 2M246 050GF) do I also need to order a new diode (#143 on parts diagram) or do your magnetrons come with this as part of the magnetron assembly? Also since I removed the magnetron I can see what model it is as referenced above. When I search for a replacement on Google your site pops us with the following link: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/lg-magnetron-6324w1a001h-ap4439646.html This appears to be the part I need, however when I use your appliance compatibility tool it says the part is incompatible. This does not seem possible, can you please explain? Thanks.
1 Answer John, The magnetron that would be needed on your unit would be WB26X32629 and would not come with the diode. The diode does not have to be replaced with the magnetron. Read More...
John September 06, 2015 for Model Number SCA1001KSS02 Hello, I'm seeing 2 TCOs in the place where the TCO base hood is. Where the TCO Base Hood is. On the floor, there is another one I think above right in front of the magnetron I believe. It looks identical. Do you know which type of TCO this is, as I'm testing that one and it appears to be dead? Thanks for any help on this.
1 Answer John, It appears that magnetron TCO will open at a temperature of 302 degrees. If there is an open reading then it is bad. The Hood TCO should open at 133 degrees. The hood TCO part number is WB24X31473 and the magnetron TCO is part number WB21X10054 Read More...
John September 01, 2015 for Model Number SCA1001KSS02 I may have a bad TCO OVEN CAVITY can you tell me on this model how to locate it?
1 Answer Hello John. Uninstall the microwave and remove the outer cover to access and replace the TCO. Read More...
Stan November 15, 2014 for Model Number sca1000hcc03 I installed a new Advantium 120. The fan, light, timer all work but the microwave and speed cook are not working (the start/stop not responding). The door light/sign on the displaced panel is blinking. The unit was brought from the craigs list list and the door is sightly bent on the lower hinge and it is very tight closed. It may have been dropped. How do I fix the problem or what parts do I need to replace? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Stan, You will need to determine if the damage incurred is to the hinge, the body, or the door and determine from the parts illustration which parts you need to replace. Note the hinges are part of the cavity assembly and the cavity assembly is not considered a serviceable part, (not available as a replacement part), so if the damage cannot be corrected by servicing the door assembly, it will be non-repairable. Dan August 25, 2014 for Model Number GE Microwave jvm1490sd003 I just went to replace part # WB21X10046 and found out that one of the lugs was melted on to one side of the thermostat. My questions are as follows: Is this a special lug or can I just cut the wire and crimp on a new lug. It appears there is a white rectangular cover over it? Or....is there a replacement harness? It looks as if the harness has more than just the thermostat wires on it. Thanks!
1 Answer Dan, You will just want to cut the wire and crimp on a new connector as the wire harness is not available for replacement. The connector should be a 1/8" or 1/4" female spade connector. Read More...
Terry O July 11, 2014 for Model Number peb1590sm1ss The microwave was used with the rack in place. Now the convection does not heat above 150 degrees, although the panel says oven is ready no matter the temp setting. Is there a thermostat used only for the heating element that might have gone bad? The micro part still works correctly. Thank you.
1 Answer Terry, You will want to check to make sure that the convection fan is running. If the fan is not running it will affect the temperature during the convection. There is also a thermistor that reads the temperature inside the unit that you will want to check. Read More...

Mike February 02, 2014 for Model Number JVM1870SF001 I had a small fire in my microwave a sweet potato. I found TCO CAVITY switch is open. I also saw something about a flame cavity switch sensor which I can't locate. My question is if this tco switch is bad will it stop the Microwave from coming on as I have removed it from the cabinets because the unit lost power but has 110 going to it Thanks Mike
1 Answer Hello Mike. Yes, if it is open, you will need to replace the cavity sensor on the unit. Read More...
