Iceberg S. August 11, 2014 for Model Number WJSR4160G0WW My washer just decided to stop cycling through the different cycles. I watched a few videos on how to replace the timer. Would I be correct in saying that the timer is bad? I didn't open up the timer to view the inside of it.
1 Answer Hello Iceberg, You will need to do some troubleshooting before replacing the timer. You see, certain things have to happen before the timer motor is energized so it can advance in the cycle. You should pull the tech sheet and remove the main front of the unit. The green LED under the motor board cover will be flashing. Count the number of flashes and this will normally point you to the troubled component by using the scale on the tech sheet. The tech sheet will be inside the control panel. Read More...
Danny August 07, 2014 My washer has timer kingston 71597 The problem I'm having is that it no longer allows me to pull back on the knob to turn the dial to a washing selection. The timer is still working properly I just have to force the knob to the selection and press start. Is this a Knob issue or a Timer issue?

Tony A. January 06, 2014 for Model Number WLSR2000G3WW My GE washer, model # WLSR2000G3WW started acting weird over the weekend. As soon as I start the wash cycle, it goes straight to the spin cycle. It won't fill up with water or do any of the wash cycle steps, it just starts spinning dry. So I opened up the control panel and cleaned all the parts, particularly the timer. I unplugged the timer and dust it off and closed the control panel back up. When I started the washing cycle, it started filling up with water but my joy wash short lived because after that process was done and after a few seconds pause, the machine drained the water right awy rather than performing the was cycle. After that, I didn't mess with it anymore, I just thought that the timer might be bad. Could that be the problem? If so, would be worth trying to repair the timer?
1 Answer Tony, Yes with the description of the problem it sounds like the contacts inside the timer are stuck and the timer would need to be replaced. Timer part number WH12X10338. Read More...
Gmom September 16, 2013 for Model Number WLSR2000GWW The plastic teeth on the timer assembly shaft (WH12x10348) are visibly broken and won't engage with the knob. Is there any way to replace only the plastic teeth gear piece? Or is there another way to repair this rather than replace the entire timer assembly? I am very sure there is nothing else wrong with it, as it is quite new.
1 Answer Gello Gmom. No, if the teeth on the timer are bad, you will need to order a new timer for the unit. Read More...
Dedric July 31, 2013 My washer is not agitating fills up with water then I can manually turn it to spin cycle and its works is it the switch
1 Answer Hello Dedric, This sounds like there is something in the circuit preventing the voltage from passing to the timer motor to advance the timer. It could be in the timer but without looking at the wiring diagram, I would be afraid to guess and have you order the wrong part. Read More...
