Michelle May 15, 2019 Hi, I am wondering if this part can be replaced. When I tried to pull the film off the touch panel that is used to select ice type and to change the door alarm, it pulled off part of the letters for the words "water filter". I'm not sure if it was supposed to be pulled off or not now. I'd like to know what I can do because it looks really ugly on my nice fridge. I have a picture but I'm not sure how to attach it. Thanks, Michelle
1 Answer Michelle, if you could provide the model number for your appliance in a new inquiry, this will allow for the most accurate information possible. Read More...
Mike February 28, 2019 for Model Number RF23HCEDBSR/AA-0000 I purchased this model brand new and just had it delivered. While removing a warning sticker that came on the front of the touchscreen display panel it peeled away part of a plastic film membrane covering the control display panel. I am not sure if this should be remove as it appears to be a protective coating that is supposed to remain there for daily operation. I do not know if I can or should try and peel it away and if so do I need to replace it with a new plastic coating? Or do I need to replace the entire display panel? Again, this is a thin plastic coating but different from the plastic installed elsewhere when it came packaged from shipping. What bothers me is that it tore so easily. I can share a picture if you like. Please advise thank you
1 Answer Mike, That protective coating is to be removed and is there for the purpose of shipping so that the display does not get scratched or damaged while shipping. Read More...

Mike December 26, 2018 for Model Number lmxc23746s I bought a new display cover MCK66585129. I began by prying all the edges loose but it looks like there are screws going into the back of it attaching the control panel. How do you replace the display cover?
1 Answer Mike, You will want to remove the drip tray and put your hand at the bottom of the dispenser and push down and pull out on the dispenser assembly. This will allow the dispenser to be removed and access any screws from the back. Read More...
Penni October 04, 2018 for Model Number lmxs30776s Like other comments I have seen here, we have had our refrigerator for a year and a half and the protective membrane to the control panel is peeling away from the panel. Do you have a part that can replace this for Model No. LMXS30776? We didn't spend over $2,000.00 for a refrigerator to have it look like a mess right from the get! Thank you. Penni
1 Answer Penni, The control has a piece of plastic over it that is to be removed when the unit is brought into the home and is just there to keep the control from getting scratched. If this is the film that you are referring to then just peel it off. If the entire membrane is peeling away from the display then you would need part number ACQ85430286. Read More...
Leaett Lipker February 13, 2018 for Model Number LFX29927ST/02 I paid to have the display panel changed less than a year ago for discoloration and peeling off. The same thing is happening all over again. LG is going to replace as a courtesy but how do I prevent this from happening again? What is causing it to peel?
1 Answer Leaett, You will want to make sure that what is peeling is not a protective cover on the display. Also make sure that you are not using chemicals and just use soap and water to clean it. Read More...
Donaldi January 18, 2018 for Model Number LFX31945ST/05 The plastic film is peeling and discolored at the top, bottom, and sides of the control panel. The plastic is much thicker than the thin film we removed from many parts of the fridge when it was installed about a year ago. We have tried to remove the plastic, but it is very brittle and almost "glued on" to the areas where it is not peeling. We honestly cannot determine whether this plastic should or should not be on the control panel...? Does anyone know if it should or should not have been removed? If it should be removed, how does one remove it? Thanks in advance for your consideration of this frustration situation....
1 Answer Hello Donaldi. It sounds like the film your referring to is the actual overlay of the display. If so, you will need to order and install MCK66585116 onto the unit. Thank you. Read More...
Lf November 12, 2017 for Model Number LFX31945ST/06 I need the control panel that is on the outside of the door next to the ice dispenser, that shows temp, crushed, lock etc. Mine is peeling. Also how do you replace it? Thank you.
1 Answer LF, You will want to make sure that what is peeling is not the protective coating that is normally on there when you get the unit. If it is not then you will need to get part number MCK66585116. Read More...
Garret August 31, 2017 for Model Number LFXS29766S My display cover is peeling off (model #LFXS29766S) I order part number MCK66585130. Is this the correct part and how do I replace the cover?
1 Answer Hello Garret, This is the correct part MCK66585130 for the model provided. You will need to use a knife or similar object to peel the cover off. You will then need to use rubbing alcohol to remove any remaining sticky stuff used by the factory to adhere it to the unit. Then peel off the backing from the new part and stick it in place. Be sure of the placement since it will stick as soon as it touches. Read More...
