Hello George, This normally indicates a condition where an over heat condition is occurring inside the unit. In the case of the duct being off it is possible that enough heat was drawn back in from the exhaust, (since the air inlet is in the rear panel of the appliance), to set the code.

Hello Sonjia. It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly.

Jose, You will want to check the cycling thermostat or thermistor, whichever the unit has, and make sure that it is good. A faulty cycling thermostat will cause the heater to stay on and cause the high limit or thermal fuse to fail.

Hello John, The same components are used for the timed dry as the sensor dry except the timer motor is provided voltage part of the time as determined by the moisture sensors. This indicates a restriction in the exhaust ducting in the home ducting. This should be short and straight as possible and any flexible ducting should be replaced with 4 inch rigid ducting as per the manufacturers' recommendations.

Hello Chris. No, you would have to replace everything on the dryer except the cabinet and the drum. It is more feasible to replace the dryer with a gas one.
