George A. July 07, 2015 for Model Number DLE5932W I disconnected the air vent and it ran and evently shut off with a Code "HE"
1 Answer Hello George, This normally indicates a condition where an over heat condition is occurring inside the unit. In the case of the duct being off it is possible that enough heat was drawn back in from the exhaust, (since the air inlet is in the rear panel of the appliance), to set the code. Read More...
1 Answer Hello George. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Sonjia June 01, 2015 for Model Number DLE2514W My dryer is taking forever to dry. Usually 2 times cycles of 60 min each. It still is warm temperature. I was looking at getting a new heating elememt. Is this all I need?? Always open for suggestions.
1 Answer Hello Sonjia. It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly. Jose April 04, 2015 for Model Number DLE2516W Dryer was not heating so I replaced thermostat worked great for 2 weeks then stopped heating again. Replaced part again, it worked for about ten days this time. Is there something something else causing this part to go bad? Dryer is lint free and vent has also been cleaned out.
1 Answer Jose, You will want to check the cycling thermostat or thermistor, whichever the unit has, and make sure that it is good. A faulty cycling thermostat will cause the heater to stay on and cause the high limit or thermal fuse to fail. Read More...
John March 08, 2015 for Model Number DLE5955W The dryer is suddenly taking 2,3 or more cycles to dry clothes. This is happening when using settings in the flow sense area and timed drying. The flow sense indicator shows 4 bars, the drying indicator is blinking and the cooling indicator is on and steady. I've not paid enough attention to know if any of this is normal or not. The dryer seems warm enough, but not neccessarily hot. What would be your advice to correct my problem? Thanks
1 Answer Hello John, The same components are used for the timed dry as the sensor dry except the timer motor is provided voltage part of the time as determined by the moisture sensors. This indicates a restriction in the exhaust ducting in the home ducting. This should be short and straight as possible and any flexible ducting should be replaced with 4 inch rigid ducting as per the manufacturers' recommendations. Read More...

Chris D July 15, 2014 for Model Number DLE5977W Hi I have the DLE5977W which of course is the electric version. I have recently learned my house electricity is somewhat overloaded, and that upgrading it is ridiculously expensive. Is it possible for me to convert my DLE5977W to a DLC5988W natural gas version by swapping out parts I can purchase here? If so, would it be just the heating element? or what all else might need to be swapped out?
1 Answer Hello Chris. No, you would have to replace everything on the dryer except the cabinet and the drum. It is more feasible to replace the dryer with a gas one. Read More...
