This is a spider arm assembly for washing machines. Another name for the spider is the rear tub support because it provides support for the outer tub. The spider has three legs that are approximately 10 inches long each. washing machines might need a new spider arm assembly if it is very noisy, if it shakes excessively while running, if the drum is emitting burning smells at high speeds, or if it is smoking. If upon visual inspection, the spider arm assembly is rusted or corroded, it will need to be replaced. The dryer drum may appear to have cracks, but this is how it is manufactured during the casting process. This is a genuine LG part and is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is sold individually. This specific spider arm assembly is compatible with washing machines that are LG and Kenmore manufacture.

For Lg Spider Arm Assembly (Part Number: OEM13317801)

Linda for Model Number 110. 47789 700

We have a Kenmore Elite He 5 T and it was making an awful racket on the spin cycle. My husband took it apart thinking it was the bearing but the bearing seems good. When he was taking it apart we found that there is a huge break in one of the spider supports or spinner thing. We have looked everywhere and cannot really afford to replace the entire washing machine. Other than that broken piece it was a great washer and would love to get it fixed. Do you know which spider arm assembly I would need? our old shaft has a flat spot on two sides where the spinner thing goes over it.

Al, The spider assembly replacement would correct the issue with the unit and unfortunately we cannot say exactly how long the unit will work.

Hello Garry. Based on the model number you provided, you will need to order WPW10269756 for the basket assembly. The spider is part of it. Thank you.

Bill, The part number that would be needed for the spider will be 131618500 which is the inner tub as the spider is not available separately.

Not sure which problem I'm having with my LG front loading washer! When we spin the tub by hand it makes a knocking noise, when it's on the spinning cycle it makes the same knocking noise... a few times I've noticed what I called a heavy cloudy mist coming out of the washer when I open the door ( is this the smoke people r speaking of?) It's not a smoke from anything burning! I'm not sure if I need a new spider arm or bearings. .. any suggestions? Or should I replace both part's as long as we have it disassembled? And of corse we will replace the seal on the outer tub.

1 Answer

Deborah, This issue sounds like it would be caused by a faulty spider on the unit.
