Monica S. July 22, 2013 for Model Number LSC27950st Refrigerator had a power surge and popped plug on main control board. Attached plug and all is working fine except flap will not open to let out ice. Should I check spring, order solenoid or could it be the crank (which I cannot find that part on your website.
1 Answer Monica, This issue would most likely be caused by a bad solenoid on the dispenser part number 6421JB2002R. Read More...
Wayne P. September 08, 2011 for Model Number lfx25980st First of all thank you Wayne P for your reply. I will call and order the parts one more question was not answered can I do this job myself? If so do I start from the inside and work my way out or does some out side parts just pop off? Thank you so much I don't mean to be trouble. GOD BLESS
1 Answer Hi Wayne. We applaud all DIY'ers because of their spirit to complete the task . Possibly tape off 1st with masking tape on the corners , around the front of the unit at hand. With safety and goal focused, you will be able to remove the "layers" of the fountain controls to access the part replacement. You will start from the glass "spill catcher" on the bottom of the fountain controls. After removal of this, it will expose 2-screws to remove the fountain controls. Then you lift up on the controls being very carefull as not to scratch the front of the door. Possibly tape off 1st with masking tape on the corners , around the front of the unit. Then you remove inner panels until you access your spring needed part # is 4970JA3011C. Make sure that you mark all exact location of the wires for proper reassembly. Assemble in reverse. Thank you. Wayne P. August 29, 2011 for Model Number lfx25980st Hello I repair everything I can myself. My ice machine flapper does not close often. I think I would like to replace the spring. What do you think? I would like to order all parts needed for this job. I have never steped into this job, when replacing the spring does the front of this unit just pop apart? Or do I have to start from inside and work my way out? Please advise and Thank you for your web site.
1 Answer Hi Wayne. You will need to replace the duct cap assy. part # 5007JA3006T. This part is actually the part which shuts tight against the chute. The spring is part # 4970JA3011C. The reversing solenoid is part # 6421JB2002R. It alone is on back order at this time. Please call our customer service at 1-877-477-7278. Tell everyone to get their ice first so they don't have a full glass of beverage and then back splash into the chute with contamination or short out the control board. Thank you. Read More...
