The Thermistor Assembly is an OEM component specifically designed for front loading LG washing machines. It plays an important role in monitoring and regulating temperatures during heated wash cycles. The thermistor detects temperature changes within the wash drum and sends this information to the control board to ensure clothes are washed at the optimal temperature.

Causes of a bad thermistor assembly can include general wear and tear over time, exposure to extreme temperatures, or damage due to impact or mishandling during cycles.

Symptoms of a bad thermistor assembly include:

  • Inability to reach or maintain set temperatures
  • Fluctuating water temperatures
  • Error codes related to temperature sensing

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore washers.

This will be necessary to look up and specific parts such as the one you requested. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. We will need your model number to help you with this. Jody A. for Model Number WM2496HSM

The TE code keeps appearing on my washer. I have watched your repair video for the thermistor. We bought the part to do the repair but after disassembly, we discovered the broken wire. We have repaired the wire 2 times now, but it just keeps breaking. I will need a new wire that has the fitting on the end this one is just too damaged. If we have so much movement in the drum that this wire keeps breaking, is there something wrong like a stabilizer that keeps if from too much movement that I need to check?

June, If you are using a plunger to seal the hole left by the thermistor where it has been changed to come with the heater then you could use a sealant to keep the plunger in place.

Hello Ally. Sorry, looking at the diagrams they do not offer the harness for the thermistor. You can try crimping a new end onto the wires and plugging into the thermistor.
