E. May 10, 2021 for Model Number LFXC24726S/02 I ordered from another vendor a water inlet valve assembly, part # AJU72992603. LG indicates this is the correct part, but the electrical connectors do not match the water inlet valve that is in my refrigerator. The new part has a three wire connector and the old part has a six wire connector. They both have another 4 wire connector. Thoughts?
1 Answer E., as the manufacturer recommends the water valve AJU72992603 the only step that can be done is identifying the part number directly off of the original water valve. There should be a silver sticker with a part number on the right side. Read More...
Rere August 03, 2020 for Model Number 79574039411 My ice maker is leaking water into the ice bin but it also goes down the side of bin and freezes under the bin making it difficult to remove. Could this be the water inlet valve?
1 Answer ReRe, It is possible that the water inlet valve AJU72992603 is not sealing after a fill and overflowing into the bin. Read More...
Bill N. March 19, 2020 for Model Number 79574039411 Water in the door keeps flowing after the switch is off. Ice was also going it until the water shut-off valve turned off. We thought the switch was stuck or broken but seems to click and work fine. The ice now turns off and works properly. In both cases, the water stopped when the left door is opened It sounds like the inlet valve is continually running when the water in-door switch is activated.
1 Answer Hello Bill, If the water continues to flow when the switch is deactivated, this indicates a water valve, AJU74532703 and AJU72992603, failure if there are no harness issues. Be sure to check the harness at the door hinge. The last thing to try would be the control board since we cannot pull information from this manufacturer. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
John January 24, 2020 for Model Number LG LMXC23746S Hi, the water dispenser on mt LG does not work, the ice dispenser is working. The secondary water valve operates when the water lever is pressed (has 120V) although no water comes out. I put a meter on the primary inlet valve and it does not activate when the water lever is pressed. However, when the ice refills, I see the solenoid operate with 120V. Any suggestions? Thanks, John
1 Answer John, the wires at the hinge will need to be inspected for any breaks. If the wires are in good condition, then the most likely failure would be the sub PCB ABQ72940028 located at the top of the left door (based on the information that has been provided). Read More...
Jas January 04, 2020 for Model Number 795.72063.111 Water is being dispensed properly when getting a glass of water. The ice maker is NOT making ice at all though. Would this valve be something that would correct the ice maker? I have hit the reset button and nothing. The ice maker just isn't filling up with water at all.
1 Answer Jas, the inlet tube going into the ice maker will need to be inspected for any ice blockages. If there is an ice blockage, it will need to be cleared and the water valve AJU74532703 would need to be replaced. If there is not an ice blockage, the valve will need to be accessed, the door open with the door switch taped into a closed position, and the ice maker reset. With the ice maker going through a cycle, it should send voltage to the valve near the end of its cycle. If the 1/4" solenoid on the valve gets voltage, then the valve is bad. If it does not get voltage, then the ice maker is bad as it is not calling for water. The 14 cube ice maker is part number AEQ73110205 (Note: 14 cube - IMPORTANT: The secondary (smaller) wire connector has 6 wires in it. If your original ice maker has a 3 wire connector, see part number AEQ73110203 ) Read More...
Randy July 24, 2019 for Model Number LMXS30776S/03 Ice maker doesn't always fill up with water after dumping te previous cycle's ice. Water dispenses fine, and the ice maker fillls up every single time I press the reset button on the ice maker (button on the bottom thats partially hidden). Sometimes it works fine for a day, other days it won't refill at all unless manually triggered via the reset button. I've replaced the ice maker and it still exhibits the same behavior. Filter is new fwiw.
1 Answer Randy, With the unit only filling with ice when the reset button is pushed then this would normally be an icemaker issue. Since the ice maker has been replaced, check the wiring to the ice maker and water valve. Also, check the wiring harness at the top of the door to make sure that there is no damage to the wiring. If all this is ok then the issue will most likely be a control board issue. Read More...
Paul July 21, 2019 for Model Number LFX31925ST Water is leaking into the chute where ice leaves ice storage bin to get dispensed. The water seems to travel through the ice storage bin resulting in the auger on the bottom of the ice storage bin eventually freezing completely with ice cubes mixed with water. There ends up being a block of ice from the bottom of the bin into the chute which makes it really difficult to remove the bin. My suspicion is that when the ice tray is filled water from the ice tray is overflowing into the bin. This problem ceases to I turn off the switch on the ice maker even when the bin is full with ice.
1 Answer Paul, This issue would appear to be caused by a faulty water valve allowing too much water into the ice maker when it cycles. Read More...
Tim July 16, 2019 Water accumulates and freezes under the ice maker bin. Could the problem be a leaking valve/flow sensor assembly?
1 Answer Tim, as there are many variations of assembly, if you could provide the model number for your appliance in a new inquiry, this will allow for the most accurate information possible. Generally, the key things to look for in this situation are air leaks to the ice bin section, cracks in the ice tray, or signs of water in the fill tube freezing indicating a leaking valve. Chris June 01, 2019 for Model Number lfsx24623d I recently purchased this refrigerator, and found that the ice machine is only good for about 2 ice making cycles, and then the tip of the water line freezes up. Once thawed with a blow dryer, it will run 2 more cycles and freeze. I checked the water supply to the unit, and verified that there is 60 psi coming to the refrigerator. The user guide specifies minimum 40 psi with a water filter. Upon testing the water flow from the water dispenser, it cannot fill an 8 ounce glass of water in less than 8 seconds (or whatever LG specifies). It takes more like 10 -12 seconds. I attempted this both with the water filter in place, as well as the bypass plug. Would it be safe to bet that the water valve is faulty? On another note, when dispensing water, the valve does make an audible "buzzing" sound.
1 Answer Chris, With the water pressure being good then this issue would be caused by a water valve that is seeping and allowing water to trickle into the fill tube and flash freeze. You will need to change the water valve for this issue. Read More...
Marlon January 11, 2019 for Model Number lfx31925st02 The flow of my water dispenser is very slow, and it is slow at making ice as well. Will the valve part fix that?
1 Answer Marion, normally when the dispenser and icemaker start slowing down at the same time, it is an indicator that the water filter is clogging up. You would want to start by replacing the water filter or using the filter bypass ABN73019101 to ensure that there are no restrictions in the filter AGF80300702. Once there is verification that there are no restrictions in the filter, if the water flow is still low then you will want to replace the valve assembly AJU72992603. Read More...
