Joe, Have you noticed if the ice cubes are over sized, or any problems dispensing the cubed ice ? The water valve could be and probably is the issue, you may want to replace it anyway. But there is a possibility there could be a loose or cracked water tube in the dispenser assembly or the ice maker fill tube. Try the fill valve first.

Hello Robert. You will need to cycle the icemaker and see if any water comes out of the water valve. If not, and there is power to the water valve, replace the water valve. If you get water out of the valve, then check and see if the fill tube is frozen on the unit.

John for Model Number LG LSC27950ST

My water dispenser stopped working. When I push the button, i hear a click and humm like it is trying to work. I checked water pressure and it is good, and replaced the water inlet valve with part 5221JA2006D but mine is slightly different. My valve has 3 sets of connectors (one dual and two single) on the first valve (the one that connects to the water supply line.) All photos show just one dual connector I tried hooking it up with just the dual connector but it still doesnt work. I still hear a hum like its trying to send a signal but no water comes out of the valve even with no outlet hose hooked up. Thoughts?

Hello John. You need to test for power to the valve. If it is there and no water comes out, you will need to replace the water valve on the unit.

Hello Bill. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Frank, It sounds like you have the water lines connected properly but it would not cause burning smell. if there is no water passing through the valve then this could cause the valve to overheat so make sure that the water is turned back on and make sure that the line did not get kinked.

Jon, Based on the information it sounds like something may have come through your water supply and is showing up in the water. You may need to replace the water reservoir to correct this issue.

George, We do not have a wiring diagram for this unit to be able to assist properly but on your wiring you have one that has 2 wires in each connector which will go to the single water valve. The others one has purple and black and would go to the solenoid that has the white ring at the bottom of the dual valve. The other wire set will go to the other connections.
