For Lg Refrigerator Water Inlet Valve Assembly (Part Number: OEM13336851)

Bryan W for Model Number LG LSC27950SB

My water dispenser has stopped working. The ice still works though. After reading through multiple post I ordered the part number 5221JA2006D. I went to put the part in and my water valve has 4 solenoids instead of the three that the new part has on it. After speaking with LG I got the part number for the wiring harness. My issue is that one of the locking collars(the orange one) is larger than the blue hose is and will not lock the hose into position. Is there a conversion kit or something else I can do to get this installed?

Bryan, The orange fitting is a 1/4" and the tubing is 1/4" and should fit into the opening. There is no special adapter for the connection.

Hello Bob, If the ice maker will fill with water sometimes, the fill tube cannot be stopped up and this points away from the water valve. This sounds more like a bad set of contacts in the ice maker that energizes the water valve. I would replace the ice maker assembly first as long as the fill tube is verified to be clear. If ice is found in the fill tube, the water pressure or the water valve is the issue.

Jaclyn, There is a test button on the bottom of the icemaker motor. Push this test button to see if the icemaker cycles. If it does not then the icemaker would need to be replaced. If it does and water comes into the icemaker then the main control board is faulty and if it does not bring water in then the water valve would be the problem.

Jack, There are a couple of possibilities the diodes in the wire harness 6877JB3019F may have failed and is not allowing the power to the valve, or one of the fill valve solenoids have failed and has stopped the water flow. As long as you're sure the water filter is clean and properly seated that would be a good place to start.

Laurence for Model Number LSC26905TT

I attempted to replace the two water tubes on my LG LSC26905TT but ran into difficulties when attempting to connect into the water valve. When I removed the old damaged tubes, I pulled them from the valve fitting. In so doing I found a strange looking washer that I suspect is used to hold the tubes into the fitting. These washers were damaged when I pulled them out. I understand that to get these washers, I have to buy the complete water valve. I don't want to damage anything else when I remove the other remaining tubes from the current valve. What is the best way to take them off the old valve, and what steps should I follow to secure the new tubes to the new water valve?

1 Answer

Laurence, The clips that are in between the ring and the valve need to be removed. Once you remove the clips you will push in on the ring and pull out on the tubing.

Tony W. for Model Number lsc26905tt water inlet valve

I have replaced my water inlet valve for my lsc26905tt with a replacement part from your company. I originally had an issue where water was coming out from under the fridge when we would get water from the dispenser or the ice maker was working. Everything was fine until a few weeks after the installation and now we are experiencing the same problem. Any ideas on why this is happening? and do I have another problem. BTW I have replaced my water filter also when the inlet valve was replaced. Thanks ahead of time...Tony

Hello Tony. Make sure the water lines on the unit are not leaking and also, check and see if the drain hole in the freezer is clogged and needs to be cleaned out.

Hello Yvonne, If the connections at the door hinge are making correctly, the control board 6871JB1352A has failed. Unfortunately, the board is no longer available and the manufacturer has provided no satisfactory substitute. I tried to send you an e-mail with some additional information but "Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently: Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the server for the recipient domain."

Hello Jim, The first thing that you always want to check is that the water filter is good. The chances of both solenoids for the water valve going bad is unlikely. The water filter or the filter head would be the most likely cause. If the filter head is bad it will not put water into the icemaker or dispense water. The same with the filter. Most units come with a filter bypass that you could install and see if the ice and water work. If not then you would want to pull the water lines from the valve and press the dispenser and see if water comes through. If it does then you will want to replace the filter head. If no water then you want to check for 12 vdc to the valve when calling for water at the dispenser. If no power then the control board would be at fault/

Hello Henry, You will want to test to make sure that you are getting power to the water valve. When dispenser lever is pushed you should have 12vdc at the water valve. If you have this voltage then you need to replace the water valve 5221JA2006D.
