For Lg Refrigerator Water Inlet Valve Assembly (Part Number: OEM13336851)

Theodore G for Model Number LG LRSC26925TT

Recently the pressure at the cold water dispenser and ice maker suddenly reduced by about half. It was pretty noticeable and the ice tray only fills about half way now too. I replaced the water filter, then removed it to allow bypass and checked household supply line pressure (it's plenty high). I noticed about a quarter of an inch of water in a plastic pan located below the inlet valve assembly. Do you think I would be correct to replace the inlet water valve assembly at this point? Seems to me there aren't many options left to me.

Hi Joel. You need to be changing the water filter every 6-mos. part # 5221JA2006D. Check the water line incoming into the back of the unit to insure it is not kinked. Get a bucket. Shut the house supply spiket at the wall off. Disconnect the line at the water valve. Insert the line into the bucket and make sure the house water pressure is still strong water pressure. Once this all is verified, disconnect the freezer top hinge cover. Make sure the fountain controls electrical connector under it is all connected clean and tight. If you need to bypass these burnt connection's, make sure the new but connector crimps are tight and does not get caught in the top cover. If you can command all fountain controls as selected, It usually is just the water filter or a bad water valve part # 5231JA2006F. I would use the DIGITAL Capacitor Tester / Volt/ohm meter. MA-DM1 to assist you. Is there any fault codes ? Let me know how I can help further. Thank You.

John for Model Number LG LSC26905TT

I have an LG LSC26905TT and I just noticed that I have ice accumulating down the back wall, inside my freezer. As I looked closer, I notices that I have a frozen "Small Waterfall" coming from the water tube that fills the ice trays. It would seem that this would be caused by water leaking from the water valve (that it may not be shutting all the way off). Does this sound correct or can you offer any other advice? If it is correct, does the valve need to be replaced or can it be cleaned out? Thanks

1 Answer

Hello John. Yes, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the water valve 5221JA2006D is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. You can not clean the valves out on the units. Hope this helps.

Max for Model Number LSC27950ST

My tenant cut the spades off of the wire harness that connects to my water valve assembly and I want to solder new spades on so that I can connect to my new water valve. Can you tell me which color wires go to which terminals on my three solenoid water valve? Can you also tell me what the ice maker logic is that opens the valves? Example... what has to happen at the ice maker for it to call for water and what valve(s) does it open (the ice valve and mater water valve simultaneously)? Are there any other possible faults in the system that could cause an ice maker that appears visually to be going through it's cycles normally that could cause it to not receive water with a new property installed water valve assembly and with verified water source and clear water lines?

Hi max. There is a harness joint connecter that is part # 6877JB3053D. There is a supplied wire diagram in the controls section of the unit. Thank You.

Hi Max. Your wiring diagram shows the purple wire connecting to the cube solenoid line as the blue wire is a common neutral wire. The Brown wire connector with the blue wire is the water solenoid line. The wire connector is part # 6877JB3053D. Thank You.

Hello Jim. Looking at the water valve 5221JA2006D, the 5/16" large white single valve, is the water line that goes to the filter. The Charcoal grey 1/4" fitting on the dual valve, is the return from the water valve. Then you are left with 2 water lines, One is 1/4" and one is 5/16". The 1/4" goes to the orange and the 5/16" to the white. Hope this helps.
