For Mcf Thermostat (Temperature Control), Single (Part Number: OEM13701480)

Hello Dan, You simply disconnect the wires from the component and turn the control to off. It should read as no connection. When it is turned to the on position it should read no resistance. This is a basic test and will not actually show if the temperature control is opening and closing at the proper temperatures. Since the temperature controls on these are common failures, there is a very good chance that it is the cause of your issue.

Rolando, You will want to check to make sure that the unit is not frosting up causing the unit to continuously operate. If it is then you will need to check the defrost heater and thermostat for continuity. If there is not continuity then replace the part. If they both have continuity then replace the timer. If the coils are clear then replace the thermostat.

Jeff, If you are having to turn the shaft of the timer to get the unit to start then the problem would be in the timer even though the timer has just been replaced.

Mark O for Model Number MCBR1020W

I have a 4 year old Magic Chef Refridgerator model # MCBR1020W. I went to get something out of it and it was blowing warm air in both the Freezer and Refridgerator compartments. Do you have any idea what may be wrong so I can order and replace the part if possible? I do hear what I believe is the compressor. It is blowing out hot air. I turned the unit off overnight on Wednesday and turned it back on this afternoon assuming that if the coils were frozen they would thaw and start blowing out cold again but no such luck. HELP*****thanks
