I have the same question regarding length of the rods. I purchased DC97-16350D from somewhere else and the rods that arrived were 25.5 inches with pink caps. My original suspension rods are 26 inches, with yellow caps. All the information online is still pointing to DC97-D16350D, for WA5471ABW/XAA-01 but I don't think they will fit. There is information that these even replace DC97-05280H (which I think are the originals with the yellow cap). Can you please provide the length of these suspension rods? They need to be 26 inches. 25.5 will not work because that will raise the drum up 1/2 inch closer to the top and make it easier for the drum to hit the top and shut the machine down.

Ryan, THanks for the question!!! The rods pictured show 26" on the grid. More importantly, they are the correct part number for your model based on the manufacturer's parts diagram.

Tkmastr, This is why we recommend only the OEM part for the brand and model being worked on. This way you get the part made to the manufacturer's specs.

Hello, this is a follow-up to my previous question on how to open the washer top. In my case, as part of an earlier recall, the person sent by Samsung to perform the repair actually installed two bolts/nuts between the top and the side panels (one per side). This is why the top would not separate even after I removed the rear screws and the spring clips. The only way I could access these bolts was to weigh the drum down enough to open a gap between the top of the drum and the underside of the washer top. Then I could fit two crescent wrenches in there to loosen. I figured this may be useful info for anyone else with this situation. I took a photo of one of the installed bolts, but see no way to add it here. Having said that, replacing the dampers did the trick and the washer is working great again!

Erik, Thanks for the follow-up. Yes, Samsung added those bolts and clips after a recall for the top coming off. Thanks for taking the time to come back and providing great insight.

I purchased the 4 damper assemblies for our Samsung WA5451ANW washer, however, removing the top of the washer is not going so smoothly. It seems that as part of the recall repair-work that was previously done on the washer, two bolts were added to hold the top to the sides. I can remove the front spring clips and rear screws that hold the top down (as shown in all the videos I've seen), but I cannot see how to easily remove the two side bolts. Has anybody else had this recall work done and had the same issue, and how did they manage to remove them? Thanks, Erik

1 Answer

Erik, after disengaging the spring clips, the entire top panel would need to be lifted up and pulled forward to clear the locking bar.
