Ron April 19, 2016 for Model Number RFG298HDRS/XAA Our icemaker pushed the door open while dispensing crushed ice. After noticing the following morning, I cleaned and pushed back in. After this, it quit making ice. I tried the test button and it beeped once after about 7 seconds. You could hear something turning but again, no ice. I tried a few days later and unsuccessful also. After that, tried once again but when you push and hold the reset, you don't even get a beep at all now. All other water works on the fridge, i.e. drinking and lower ice tray works also. If the ice make is bad, what part would be needed to replace it? Thanks
1 Answer Ron, The part number for the icemaker on your unit. This will be the most likely cause for the unit to not operate. Read More...

Mike March 11, 2016 for Model Number RF28HFEDBSR/AA-0002 Ice maker does not dump ice. Replaced the Ice maker and control board. No luck. Would always cycle when hitting the reset button and refill with water. Did not appear to be defrosting right before dumping ice so that's why I replaced entire ice maker and then later the control board. Still no luck. Only part left is the auger/fan assembly but that was replaced about 4 months ago when ice in tray was melting. If it was bad again could it cause those symptoms? All temps seem to be fine. Set at -2 F and refrig at 34 F and they hold fine.
1 Answer Hello Mike. Make sure the icemaker is turned on. Also, check the temp in the ice bin and make sure it is 0 to 5°. Read More...
Charlie March 10, 2016 for Model Number RS2630WW My icemaker continues to cycle but the water never comes into the tray. I thought that the fill tube might have frozen and I held a hairdryer on it but that didn't fix it. What part would I most likely need to fix this problem? thank you.
1 Answer Hello Charlie. Test for power to the water valve. If there, and no water, replace the water valve on the unit. If there is no power, then you will need to replace the icemaker. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Felipe June 09, 2015 for Model Number RB215LASH My ice tray fell out and is frozen in a bucket full of solid ice. I see what looks like a metal arm pointing down and a piece of broken plastic in the ice as well. If there is a way to submit a picture I can send you exactly how it looks. Is it a faulty ice maker or a control board issue?
1 Answer Hello Felipe. You will need to order and replace the icemaker assembly DA97-02203H in the unit. Read More...
Andrew B June 09, 2015 for Model Number RS277ACBP/XAA-0000 The tray was not releasing the cubes, so when the next water was poured into the tray it would overflow. I got a new tray and the problem is fixed, but now the ice maker will not trigger the motor to run and drop the cubes into the bucket. I can manually push the reset button to cycle it, but that is the only way. Otherwise the ice just sits in the tray ready to be dumped. Any ideas?
1 Answer Hello Andrew. Make sure the temp is 0 to 5°. If so, you will need to replace the icemaker head DA97-00258E. Read More...
