For Samsung Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly (Part Number: OEM17845956)

Matt, Check the fill tube that feeds water to the ice maker to make sure that it is not frozen. This will be the most likely cause of this issue with what has already been replaced.

Don for Model Number RS25H5111WW/AA-0000

Hello. The icemaker stopped working, though cool water still dispenses, which suggests to me that it's not the inlet valve. Might you suggest some tests I might do to isolate the problem? We've locked the display to keep 1-yr old's hands from use, and I say this as I've read somewhere that the ice won't make if the display is locked. Might this be as simple as that? Or might this more likely be the dispenser itself? Or something else? Thank you!

Don, The ice will not dispense through the dispenser when it is in the lock position but will not keep it from making ice. There are 2 solenoids on the water valve one for the ice maker and one for the dispenser. If one has failed it will not keep the other from working so the dispenser working and icemaker is not uncommon. Test to see if the water valve is getting 120 Vac when the icemaker calls for water. If it is but no water is passing through then this will be a faulty water valve. If there is no power then the ice maker is faulty.

Johnny, it would be recommended that the ice maker sensor is tested for resistance while the refrigerator is unplugged. From the connection CN50 pin 5 to connection CN90 pin 3 the sensor should measure about 44KO or more if the freezer temperature is 10°F or less (ice maker will not make ice properly at temperatures higher than 10°F). Usually, the ice maker DA97-13415B fails before the main control DA92-00634H does.

David, the best way to tell if the issue is with the icemaker or the water inlet valve is going to be putting the icemaker into a forced harvest mode and testing the inlet valve for incoming voltage. You can find the valve in the water filter housing. If you push and hold the blue button on your icemaker, that forces it into a harvest mode. Once the arm on the icemaker starts to rotate, go to the valve and test for incoming voltage. You should get 120v AC to the valve once the icemaker gets to the end of the arm rotation. If it does not receive the voltage needed, then you will have an icemaker DA97-13415B issue. If it does receive the voltage necessary, then you will have a valve DA97-14655C issue which the valve is a part of the filter housing assembly.

G. If the icemaker had ice in it or was not fully rotated to the off position then yes it could come on.
