Questions & Answers

For Samsung Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly (Part Number: OEM17845956)

Tim, That would be the question. You would need to check the lines for clogs. The valve can be tested for 120vac when running the test cycle on the ice maker. Also, you may disconnect the water line coming out of the valve and use a container to catch possible water. Just because the valve gets 120vac does not mean the valve has not failed mechanically.

Nick, There is a heater that is on the icemaker that you purchased and the heater is not energizing which is causing the issue. You can check to see if there is power to the icemaker heater by checking at the icemaker using a multimeter. If you cycle the ice maker and test from the red pin 11 to the white/blu pin 10 on the connector, there should be 120 Vac. If there is not then the main board will be the issue.

Denis, it would be likely that the water valve DA62-02360B is leaking by and allowing water to overfill the ice maker tray. The door gaskets can be checked to identify if there is an air leak, as well as inspecting the fill tube above the ice maker for water droplets pouring out as this will identify if the valve is leaking.

Kevin, You will test at the main control board from the CN90 to pin 9 and pin 10 and look for 12 Vdc. If there is improper voltage then the issue will be a faulty control board and if there is proper voltage then it would be a faulty icemaker.
