Steven December 28, 2015 for Model Number DV338AGW/XAA-0000 Hello. The dryer started to act up yesterday. The drum is turning and the gas burner is coming on, but the clothes are not drying and you can see water on the front lower window. A couple loads the minutes counted down and then went back up again. It looks like the blower may not be working? Is there any way to confirm this before I spend $150 plus shipping on the new blower assembly?
1 Answer Hello Steven. It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly. Jennifer September 15, 2015 for Model Number DV218AEB I have replaced my thermal fuse in the last month and the dryer was running and heating fine. All of a sudden when you hit the start button, it does not start up. I am thinking it was the motor. The control panel lights up and will run through the cycle like the dryer is running, but it is not. I wanted some advice before I replace the motor.
1 Answer Hello Jennifer. You will need to test the thermal fuse again. If the fuse is bad again, either the vent is bad or the control board is sticking keeping the heater on. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Bob May 05, 2015 for Model Number DV328AEW/XAA Hello, My dryer stopped spinning - everything else lights up. It was heating correctly, the clothes were very hot the last time we used it. I have checked my belt and the black spinning wheel, they look fine. So I'm assuming now it's my motor. I wanted to make sure this part is correct for it: The Assy Motor; 27-Dryer. I've recently replaced the thermostats and heating element - so I am taking it that the motor is next to go. Thanks, Bob
1 Answer Bob, With the unit not turning on you will want to check the thermal fuse on the blower housing to make sure that it is good. If this thermal fuse fails it will keep the unit from running. Test for continuity and if the part does not have continuity it is bad and will need to be replaced. If it is bad then you will want to make sure that the venting is not clogged up from the blower wheel to the outside of the home. Read More...
