Questions & Answers

For Samsung Refrigerator Main Control Board Assembly (Part Number: OEM15818352)

1 Answer

Tim, If there is no LED light then this indicates that the compressor is not running and would suggest trying to disconnect power to the unit and wait 7 minutes to see if it will start when you plug it back up. If it does then this will most likely be caused by a faulty main control board.

Quak, This issue will most likely be caused by a faulty dispenser control board with the switch working for ice but not for water.

Angry Samsung Customer for Model Number 2013 Samsumg RF4287HARS

The icemaker on my samsung refrigerator stopped working. I have tried 2 different controller cards , but no luck. After installing the spare card, there is not even power on the tocuhscreen control panel and the internal light bulbs are not coming up. Ended up reinstalling the original card. Only noticeable thing is the time stamp in the card. The original card has a year 2012 date, while the 2 cards that didn't work have a 2013 date. Any chance this newer revision is slightly different? Thank you!

Hello ASC, you may have gotten the wrong main control board for your ref model, please recheck the model number and repost your question with the full model number with the revision number as it determines which control board fits.

Ray for Model Number RF4287HARS/XAA-0001

The lights in my Samsung fridge would not come on when opening the right french door but would come on when I opened the left door. After about a week, the lights won't come on when opening either door and the ice/water stopped working. Now the temperature is at 66 degrees and the lowest it gets is 48 degrees when using power cool. The freezer is working just fine. The main board was replaced a year ago, could it be going out again or maybe the inverter board?

1 Answer

Ray, the door switches DA34-00043C can be tested for continuity and the refrigerator sensor DA32-00033C can be tested for resistance directly at the main control DA92-00233D. For the door switches, with the unit unplugged and the doors opened, the circuit can be tested from the wire at connection CN30 pin 2 to CN50 pin 7. If there is continuity, then the switches have failed. If there is not continuity, then the most likely failure is the main control. The refrigerator thermistor, with the unit unplugged, can be tested from connection CN30 pin 6 to CN75 pin 1. At 66°F the resistance reading should be 6200 Ohms of resistance. If the thermistor reading matches the temperature, then the main control has failed. If the sensor does not match the temperature, then the sensor failed.

Steve, to test for fan functionality, the main control will need to be accessed. At connection CN76 you will want to test for 7-12VDC from pin 4 with the red probe of a meter to pin 1 with the black probe. If there is 7-12VDC, either there is a wiring issue or the fan motor DA31-00146B would have failed. If there is not voltage, then the main control DA92-00233D has failed. If the fan does not operate, it can cause the refrigerator evaporator to have an ice build-up due to excessive compressor run time.

My fridge seems to work fine but my freezer does not seem to get cold enough. I changed the evaporator fan and the thermometer in the freezer and was able to verify they are working by monitoring the fan watching the fan turn on. The freezer is colder but it hovers around 25F but the freezer reports -8. Not surprised that the freezer reports -8F since the thermometer is attached to the coil. I checked coil at the back, and it appears to have frost on the top half. Is there anything else I should check? Would replacing the main PCB get it working again?

1 Answer

Steve, the sensor DA32-00033C for the section temperature will be located in the evaporator cover at the top with the fan assembly. It would be recommended to test the sensor for resistance. At 25 degrees, the resistance should be between 15,000 to 15,700 ohms. If the sensor checks good, then the most likely issue would be the main control DA92-00233D.

Adrian J for Model Number RF4287HARS/XAA Rev 01

Ice maker stopped working, pressed reset button many times after waiting 12 hrs in between. When pressed for 3 seconds, the front panel chimed. No Ice. When I press the lever for ice, everything sounds like it's working properly (motor turns). I replaced the water valve (DA97-07827B), still no ice after 24hrs. Just ordered the newest ice maker (DA97-07365G) to replace the OE (DA97-07365A). All that's left will be the PCB (most expensive part for the ice making system). Any other thoughts I'm not thinking of? Many thanks!

1 Answer

Adrian, If the icemaker is not cycling with the reset button then the issue would be the icemaker. If this does not correct the main board would be the only other thing.

Hello Tom, I'm sorry but from the problem description, there is a sealed system issue that will require a Freon certified technician to service.
