Questions & Answers

For Samsung Washer Water Level Pressure Switch (Part Number: OEM16869114)

Hi Lorri, thanks for your post. A leak in that area could come from a few different spots — anywhere from the cold water valve DC62-00142G or hot water valve DC62-30314K, to one of the fill hoses, or even the tub itself. If you remove the top panel and the rear access panel, you should be able to get a clear view of where the water is coming from. Once you spot the source, we can narrow down the exact part that needs attention.

I am having an issue where my washer drains but will not enter a high speed spin cycle. It just quits with no error code. I have tried load balancing, cleaning the drain filter (nothing was in there), and a power reset/calibration. Drain not clogged and machine completely empties of water during the drain cycle. No door code, and I have even replaced the door switch assembly. Could the issue be that the washer doesn't think the water is completely gone due to a faulty water sensor?

1 Answer

Clifton, Thank you for your question. It is possible that the water level switch is not resetting and the unit thinks there is still water in it. The best thing you can do is get inside the washer and get the tech sheet. Put the unit into service diagnostics and see if there are any stored error codes. This will guide you to what would be wrong with the washer.

Kirk, if excessive foam is occurring during a wash cycle, the foam can get into where the pressure sensor hose connects and cause the error Sud to occur. Clearing out this port and ensuring nothing is blocking up the pressure hose would be necessary. Once completed, the washer should stop displaying the error Sud and can then be placed into a clean cycle using Affresh W10549845.

Our washer has a 3E error code that comes up. Under it it says A motor problem. too many suds are detected during the wash session. the unit if put on hold until the amount of suds have been reduced. The unti will then go back to operating. when it finishes washing the'End' and 'suds' codes will blink in turn. We did some googling and 3E says that the halls sensor could be the culprite so we replaced that but it didn't make a difference. we try any wash cycle and it will start, it will drain water out, it will pump in water, start to aggitate the cycle and then just stop. It will sit for a few minutes then get the error code. So the motor seems to work becuase it does aggitate and the drum moves easily and freely. We are wondering if its the water level pressure sensor?

1 Answer

Karen, You will want to try to put the unit into a clean cycle and run the unit. It sounds like you may have detergent build up that is causing the unit to get too many suds. Also, make sure that you are using HE detergent.

Rick, the pressure sensor hose DC97-14545F would be accessed by removing the front panel as it will be connected to the tub-to-pump hose.

Washer won’t spin at high speed when washing. Washer works ok until 6 to 7 minutes are remaining. Then the drum spins for 10 to 15 seconds and stops. This continues for several minutes then the drum rotates in the opposite direction again for 10 to 15 seconds at a time for several minutes. After doing this maybe 20 minutes the time remaining increases to 11 minutes. This happens whether there are clothes or no clothes in the washer. And it happens on different cycles - quick wash or heavy duty. I put the machine in Automatic Check Mode and it completes all tests ok, including spinning at a very high speed (2000 on the display). What can you suggest to fix this?

1 Answer

Robert, if no error codes have appeared, the failure would most likely be in the main control as the motor control and motor were able to operate properly in the check mode. For the most accurate part number identification, the REV number of this appliance would be necessary.

Brian, it would be recommended that the pressure hose is inspected for any clogs or pinholes as this can prevent the pressure sensor DC96-01703G from being able to detect water properly. If the pressure hose is good, the failure would likely be in the sensor if the wire connections are inserted fully and there are no pinched wires.
