Lisa February 27, 2022 for Model Number WF241ANW/XAA How many balance rings does Samsung washer model WF241ANW/XAA have?
Grey January 06, 2022 for Model Number WF42H5200AW/A2-0000 I saw on your how to video that there are two Washer Basket Balance rings. The front ring on my washer has been shredded to bits and is going to be replaced. Should I replace the rear one as well or leave it alone if it is in good shape?
1 Answer Grey, if it is in good condition, replacing it would be preferential rather than necessary. Read More...
Jp January 03, 2022 for Model Number WF42H5600AP/A2 During a spin, I heard a loud banging sound. I opened the top and found out that the tub shakes and gets more violent as spinning continues and the tub starts to shake so much that it will bang against the washer wall. Is it a spider arm issue or a balance ring??
1 Answer JP, if the inner basket wiggles around inside of the outer tub, the failure would be the spider arm assembly DC97-17004E. If this is the case, it is very possible that the front 6601-002637 and rear 6601-000148 bearings could have been damaged and would require replacement, along with the tub seal DC62-00156A, if this is the case. Tim J December 07, 2021 for Model Number WF42H5200AF/A2 Samsung from load balance problem, entire unit shakes, wobbles and walks on the start of any spin cycle (never an error code) between 200-400 rpm. Unit tries to rebalance clothes to no avail, if it manages to get up to speed, still shakes way more than it should. I have replaced spider arm (old one looked fine), both bearings & seal (was leaking a bit), all 4 dampers (the rear was a bit weak), both suspension springs (old were fine). No cracks were seen in the outer tub at bearing locations. The basket rotates square inside the tub. The machine was perfectly tight and level, changed location in the room to verify floor, ever placed on rubber pucks! The only thing not replaced is the balance ring, which is full to slightly above 3 & 9 o’clock positions, and balls move around, usually in groups. Do these things wear out? Can they be bad even if filled with a solution? I am about ready to give up on this thing….please help!!
1 Answer Tim, While it is possible for the balance ring to be bad and sounds like the only thing that would be left aside from the counterweights being damaged. Read More...
Zenia June 02, 2021 for Model Number WF461ABW/XAA The washer would not spin. The repairman that came told me it needed new bearings. But he look like this was his first time working on a washer.
1 Answer Zenia, it would be recommended that the spin basket is rotated to ensure that it moves freely. It should also be inspected for any play inside of the outer tub as it should not be able to move toward the tub in any direction when wiggling it around. If it does not move freely, there could be an item stuck between the basket and the tub or a failed bearings in the rear tub DC97-14604H. If there is play, the failure would be the spider shaft DC97-16509B. If neither of these things fail using this testing procedure, the next step would be identifying if there is an error code as this could indicate if there is a failure causing it to not spin. If there is not an error code, the failure would likely be in the main control DC92-00658B. Read More...
Robert May 21, 2021 for Model Number WF42H5200AP Should the balance ring make the same sound all the way around as you rotate it? Mine sounds like the ball gets stuck at one point and then will quickly roll past another point while making a rattling noise. Is this unexpected behavior? This was a recently asked question that I hope to have elaborated. I have this exact same scenario except I have inspected my spider and it is in tact, no cracks, the bearings and seal are good as well as the shocks.
1 Answer Hello Robert, the balance ring internally has a number of steel balls with a lubricating fluid, slowly turning it by hand should have the same sound, and definitely not a rattle noise. Read More...
Katelyn May 13, 2021 for Model Number WF42H5200AP/A2 Should the balance ring make the same sound all the way around as you rotate it? Mine sounds like the ball gets stuck at one point and then will quickly roll past another point while making a rattling noise. Is this unexpected behaviour?
1 Answer Katelyn, The sounds you are describing are probably not the balance ring and possibly a spider arm assembly failure. Enter this part number DC97-12135A on our website and watch the video. You might want to disassemble the unit before ordering any parts and visually inspect the spider. Read More...
Shar May 12, 2021 for Model Number WF220ANW/XAA-01 Aloha! I've been having trouble with my front load washer. I changed out all the shocks and even though it help a little I'm still experiencing an unusual amount of unnecessary vibrations. The spider assembly has no signs of corrosion, so I'm unsure if the trouble lies in the balancing rings, the bearings, or the basket itself. I'd appreciate any insight you may have. Mahalo nui!
1 Answer Shar, The bearings would have a pretty loud noise associated with a failure. The inner basket could be out of round or balance ring. Make sure the rotor on the back of the tub is tight also. Read More...

Gary H February 22, 2021 for Model Number WF330ANB/XAA-02 How many balance rings does this washer have? Do I need to order two or just one to repair the out of balance problems? Thank you!
1 Answer Gary, there is only one(1) balance ring in the front of the spin basket, DC97-12135A/DC97-12135A Balance Ring, the part is in stock and available at this time. There is a "how to" video attached to the parts order screen that should be helpful. You didn't mention any noises, or vibration or shaking, so we presume the tub bearings and shock absorbers are not the issue for the off balanced loads. Read More...
