We are experiencing the all too common water and some ice collecting under our crisper/deli drawer problem in our Samsung refrigerator. Prior to this we noticed some items that were placed too close to the back of the frig were actually staring to freeze. We will be ordering two new drain tubes for the back of the frig #DA97-04049D (APP442156). However we noticed many customers are also purchasing the DA61-14306A heater plate assembly with the longer part that actually sticks into the drain line of the defrost system to keep it from freezing. When I searched for our actual refrigerator compatibility, this part was considered NOT compatible. May it still be utilized as it appears to be a better/improved design.

DA61-06796A or DA61-14306A? If neither of these fit, is there another part number I should order? Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Kevin, Either one of those will fit. Remove the existing if it's there. The manufacturer also suggests that the drain tube in the back of your unit could be causing the backup because of lint build-up and is worth replacing. 1 Answer Hello Tricia, You can use the original DA61-03644A, the modified drain clip DA61-14306A which is a bit better, or you can use the drain clip devised by Whirlpool 819043.
