Tony S December 25, 2017 for Model Number RS265TDRS/XAA I have been having frosting issues of the coil for the past two years. I have replaced the heater coil and the thermal use and it still is frosting over. I know the heater works, because it has a reading of 108 ohms. I think the problem now is this sensor. The DA32-0029Q. The freezer just recently started the fail as well. It only gets 40 degrees cold for a freezer! What do you think? I measured the ohms of the sensor in both the refrigerator and the freezer compartment and no reading is given.
1 Answer Tony, If you are not getting a resistance reading of 5K ohms at room temp then this will be a faulty sensor and need to be replaced. Read More...
Wade July 04, 2017 Can I replace temp sensor DA32-00006W with DA32-00029Q in my Samsung RS265TDWP fridge? I need a longer wire in order to relocate the sensor to a better location on the coil. I checked the service data sheets for both and it appears the temp/resistance/voltage charts appear to be the same. Thanks!
1 Answer Wade, The only difference that there may be with these temp sensors would be the type of connector it has on it. If the connector will work then the sensor can be used. Read More...
Lilian February 05, 2016 for Model Number RS265TDRS/XAA The power in my house shut off and when we turned on again the fridge was flashing code 5E. I learned that this code means that there is a problem with the fridge defrost sensor. Is defrost sensor and temperature sensor the same thing? Is this part http://www.appliancepartspros.com/samsung-sensor-temp-da32-00029q-ap5305954.html the one that I need to replace the deffective one? I want to buy but want to make sure that this is the right part for my fridge. Thank you so much!!!
1 Answer Lilian, Yes the defrost sensor is the same as the temperature sensor and is part number DA32-00029Q. Read More...
Steve March 09, 2015 for Model Number RS265TDRS/XAA My freezer works fine, but the refrigerator is to warm. I see the coils are frosted over but the drain hole has ice in it. I think this melts when the defroster is on, which I did see the defroster working. I checked the sensor on the top of the frig and at 20k setting it reads 6.54 at room temp and 14.12 in ice water. the sensor on the coils reads 5.99 at room tem and 12 .81 in ice at 20 k setting. The fan runs when I jump it to my car battery, I replaced the main control board and the frost seemed better for 1 night now it is warm again.
1 Answer Steve, Based on the readings of the sensors, the refrigerator sensor at the top sounds like it checks ok but the sensor on the coils appear to be off by approximately 4 to 5 ohms in ice and at room temp. This would be a bad sensor which would need to be replaced Read More...
Tony March 25, 2014 for Model Number RS263TDRS/XAA Hello, I just bought this AP5305954 and tried to use the ohm digital multimeter and the number doesnt go up or down. It's at 1 when not touching anything. When I touch the black and red together, the numbers jump so I know the multimeter is working. I touch the 2 ends of the sensor and nothing happens. No numbers, still the same as 1. It's on the ohms setting at the lowest 200.
1 Answer Hello Tony, The test meter you are using has an issue. When not touching anything it should read OL. This means there is more resistance present that the meter can read. When you touch the leads together, it should read the resistance of the meter leads. This is normally .1 to .3 ohms. The sensor you are testing will not give a proper reading with the test meter you are using since it is not operating properly. Read More...
Tony March 24, 2014 for Model Number RS263TDRS/XAA Hello, How do I test or check a frig temperature sensor with a multi-meter? Dead sensor would =zero? Brand new working one will be?
1 Answer Hello Tony. You test the sensor for ohms and it depends on the temp of the sensor. 5.0? at 77°F and is the manufacturer specs of the part. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
