John S February 27, 2017 for Model Number SAMSUNG Dryer: DV5451AEW/XAA 03 The dryer runs fine in all positions but no heat. The digital display always shows with the "cooling" light on in every mode or position while it is running. So, in essence, it is in cooling mode when it never had generated any heat as of yet? I am wondering if there may be a certain part causing the issue or could it be numerous different parts? If it never generated heat but is always in "cooling" mode is this typically found to be a common solution versus replacing several different parts one at a time until it heats up again. i.e. - Thermistor, Thermostat, heating element.
1 Answer John, You will want to test the thermostat and the heating element to make sure that they have continuity. If there is no continuity then the part would need to be replaced. If the thermostats and heater check ok then. There are 2 components other than the thermostats which would cause the heating element not to work. First is the motor and second the Control board. The best option is to disconnect the power to the unit and access the heating element. Disconnect one wire that is going to the heating element, preferably the one on the thermostat side. Plug the unit back up and using a multimeter you will want to turn the dryer on and test for 120 vac at the terminal on the heater where the wire was disconnected. What this will do is eliminate the heater element itself and the motor. If there is 120 vac at this point then you know the heater is good and the motor is good because the other 120 vac coming through the thermostats is the control board side of the circuit. If there is not 120 vac at that point then you will want to test the other terminal on the heater and check for 120 vac. If there is not 120 vac then the motor would be bad . Read More...
Dave December 29, 2016 for Model Number DV5451AEW/XAA Runs down to 1 and will not shut off. If I run on time dry with nothing in the dryer it will run for awhile and shut down with beeping noise and flashig (he) but when I open the door there is heat, so assume heating element is ok. I Replaced Thermistor didn't fix the problem, could it be the Thermostat? on the heating element? But that wouldn't explain the first scenario.
1 Answer Dave, You will want to check the wiring between the thermistor and the main control board on the unit since the thermistor has been replaced. If the wiring checks ok then this issue will be caused by a faulty main control board. The error is basically saying that the temperature is not correct. Read More...
Bob December 18, 2016 for Model Number DV328AEW XAA The dryer will stop and not re-start immediately. If you let it sit for a while it will start running again. Would this be the thermostat? I assume if it was the thermal fuse it would not start again? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Bob. That would indicate the motor is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Bill S June 30, 2016 for Model Number DV419AEW/XAA-0000 I have replaced all my sensors, control board and my dryer has heat but will not shut off when it reaches 1 minute on the manual and sensor dry, I have also replaced the PCB display and it stay running, so now Im back to square one, the dryer is a good dryer and of course I will be keeping it due to completely overhauling it. So could it be my Thermostat I replace it back 6 months ago when I replaced the heating element, I have check everything with my OHMS meter and I cannot solve this issue.
1 Answer Bill, With having the control board replaced already then it would be recommended to check the wiring to the thermistor and test the thermistor for being good. If these check ok then it would be more likely a issue with the control board. Make sure that you check all wiring for bad contacts or shorted. Read More...
Hai June 03, 2016 for Model Number DV42H5200EW/A3-0000 My dryer with no heat I was replace thermal cut out then run 3 day and then no heat. Today I was replace thermal cut out dc96-00887a and thermostat dc47-00018a is run 2 hours and no heat again. Now I use voltmeter to check dc96-00887a is bad again. My question do you know what happened?
1 Answer Hello Hai, The thermal fuse is opened by high temperature. This is the only thing that will open it. For this reason, you should check for an air flow issue. This is normally caused by the home ductwork being crimped, clogged, or excessively long and/or complicated, (too many elbows). The only other thing that could cause this would be a softener sheet inside the blower wheel or a missing or damaged tub seal. Read More...
Don May 23, 2016 for Model Number SAMSUNG DV331AE I am getting no heat on any setting is it the Thermostat or the Dryer Thermistor that may be bad.
1 Answer Hello Don. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
David J September 16, 2015 for Model Number DV393ETPAWR/A1-0000 Runs fine on fluff, but when put in any heat setting it turns off within seconds.
1 Answer Hello David. It sounds like the motor may be over heating during a heat cycle. If so, you will need to order and replace the motor DC31-00055G on the unit. Read More...

James W. June 09, 2015 for Model Number Samsung DV457evgsgr/aa The dryer temperature is always hot even when I choose little or no heat settings. Is it the thermostat or something else?
1 Answer Hello James, You should check the heater for shorts to ground and if none are found, the centrifugal switch in the motor assembly is in question. Read More...
