Questions & Answers

For Samsung Refrigerator Water Inlet Valve (Part Number: OEM12485496)

Seth, the tubing from the water valve will go to the filter head DA97-06317A then from the filter head to the tank assembly DA97-07150B. These tubes are usually run through a channel but it is always a good idea to attach a cord to the end being pulled through so that it can act as a guide for the new tubing.

Mikey, Yes, it is possible that one part of the valve can fail and the other not. Based on the information provided it sounds like a valve issue or a frozen fill tube would be the likely issue.

I found a rubber elbow in the Ice maker and now I have ice forming on the bottom tray of the freezer and leaking water on the tile of the kitchen floor. The unit still makes ice but not full cubes . I own a Samsung Model RS2630SH with the Serial Number 006242BXA02201D I looked in your break down of both the freezer and Ice maker and don't see the rubber elbow . I changed out the water filter and flushed the system . I dumped out the ice that was in the Ice maker and that's when I found the elbow. Can you Please tell me how I can fix this problem

Hello J.M., This is most likely an issue with the water pressure to the unit from the home plumbing since the water and ice circuits are completely separate to include separate water inlet valves. The only other explanation would be a failed filter head assembly DA97-01666C.

Hello Jack, The refrigerator water valve is a dual valve. One side is for the ice and one side is for the water. One side failing will not affect the other. The water valve is supplied power from the electronic control board DA41-00104Y so it is the most likely suspect. Be sure to inspect the wiring harness to the door at the door hinge and check for power to the water valve from the board.

Pauline for Model Number rs261mdwp

I have a Samsung model rs261mdwp, it has been making a very loud buzzing noise. It was time to change to change to the filter so we did, then two weeks later suddenly it wasn't dispening water. Took the filter out,it was frozen and water was dispensing but only without filter. Then the buzz noise started and gotten very loud. The sound would turn off when we opened the freezer but start back up once closed. Turned water off under the sink and it sounds much better.... But now no ice or water. Please help!

Pauline, This issue sounds like it is going to be 2 fold. The first issue with the water dispensing without the filter but not with would be caused by a faulty filter head. The issue with the noise sounds like it would be the evaporator fan in the freezer hitting ice. There may be ice building up around it in which it will cause the fan to make a noise as the blade hits it. For this issue you will want to check to see if there is ice around the fan and clear it. Ice can build up over time and will make a buzzing type noise when the fan hits it.

Chris for Model Number RS265TDRS/XAA

I am hoping you can help fix this terrible fridge. While still under the 1 year warranty, the freezer went bad. We got that fixed. The entire time we've owned this refrigerator the water/ice seemed faulty. (ie slow water, no ice being made, etc).. Now, the dispenser won't dispense water at all, or just a few drips (ice not being made either). The strange thing is that it works perfectly fine with no filter in. I've replaced the filter with a samsung filter with no luck. The filter being used was only a couple months old. I refuse to put money into this piece of junk, so I would rather fix this myself if I can. Does this sound like the water inlet valve? Thanks!

Hello Austin571. If you press the button and it does not cycle, then the icemaker is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.
