For Whirlpool Refrigerator Dual Water Inlet Valve (Part Number: OEM18031326)

1 Answer

Jimbo, Most likely if the keypad is not responding when you try to switch from crushed to cube or to water then the keypad on the dispenser would most likely be the cause of failure. The water valve would not have any bearing on this issue.

Wendee, You most likely have a "stuck" open solenoid on the water inlet valve WP67005154 on the back of the refrigerator. Did you notice any issues with the ice cubes or water /ice in the freezer compartment before this issue occurred ? There is a slight possibility that the ice maker fill circuit contacts got stuck and caused the overfill situation.

Chuck, If you are referring to the icemaker not getting water then the block would more than likely be in the fill tube. The fill tube feeds the icemaker in the freezer compartment. If there is no ice or water you will want to install the bypass plug and see if the filter is clogged.

Hello Scott, Sounds like the fill tube is freezing up. Thaw it out with a hair dryer and replace the water valve to correct the issue permanently. Since no model number was posted, I regretfully cannot verify the part number you looked up is correct.

Why is there ice accumulating under the pantry drawer? It gets pretty thick and then the refrigerator shuts off automatically (usually takes about two to three weeks)so inorder for it to function properly. I need to shut off refrigerator and take away the ice blocks from under the drawer every two weeks. The ice seems to be coming from behind the back wall. I ordered the dual water valve but before I replace it im hoping you can take a moment and tell me if that in deed is the problem. Thank you

Hello Ranga, The first thing you want to check is to make sure that you have 120vac coming to the water valve. If you do not have voltage then you need to find where you are loosing voltage. If you do have voltage then you want to check to make sure that the valve is pumping. If it is then you would need a filter head assembly. With a correct model number we would be able to advise you better.
