For Whirlpool Refrigerator Dual Water Inlet Valve (Part Number: OEM18031326)

Edfive, If the icemaker is ready to cycle then it will cycle and put water into the ice tray. Typically it will take a short period of time. You will also want to check to make sure that the fill tube that feeds the icemaker in the back of the freezer is not frozen. If it is then clear the ice out of it and this should take care of the issue.

Bill, The water filter tray should fill to about 2/3 full and if it is not filling that much then look for icicles and make sure that the fill tube is positioned properly in the ice cup. The other cause would be a faulty water valve since the fill tube froze over which would be caused by a seeping water valve.

Hello Kim. Some do not use those. It sounds like you fill tube is frozen and the reason the line leaks. Try clearing the fill tube on the unit and see if that helps.

Symptom: loud knocking noise from area of the water filter when dispensing water. It is not noticed if it occurs when the ice maker fills. 1st noticed after replacing a filter. Action: Replaced the filter a second time. Result: Noise as the new filter first filled. Stopped. Then 2+ gallons without noise. Noise returned Now. Fills about 3/4 cup, beforfe the knocking noise. Opinion: the noise appears to be vibration at the filter. Could this be the water inlet/solenoid starting to fail?
