Hello Ken, the display driver circuit is part of the control board and has failed, the repair would be a new control board, WPW10438751, however, it is no longer available from the manufacturer. The 10 sec shut off usually means there is a faulty keypad WP8300440 however with no display to go by its not possible to view a fault code or alert in the display.

My whirlpool double oven indiscriminately turns on and beeps incessantly with no patter. It will begin to beep in the middle of the night, asking me to choose tempature or time or start or stop. It asks for time or top or bottom. The thing just goes rogue like it's haunted. When it's hot it seems to ask to be programmed again for temperature, timer, cook time, etc. we finally had to turn off the breaker. It never displays any error codes. Is this a membrane/button issue or is it a motherboard problem?

1 Answer

MJ, whenever it goes off, does any light work in the oven? Check the power connection at the oven to make sure the red, black, and white wires are tight. If the connection is good and voltage is not dropping to the oven, you would need the oven control, part number is 8302967, unfortunately, it is no longer available and there is no substitute being offered as a replacement.

Screen began to dim. Now almost completely dark. Can still make out numbers at an angle, but very dim. Unit works fine, and still gets to temperature. We used it enough to enough to know the button sequence to pre-heat. All buttons work fine and no error beeping seems to be occurring. Advice was to replace transformer. I did. No effect. I then bought the control panel - it does not appear to even have an LCD in it. Which part has the LCD? I don't think replacing the panel will have any effect either. Intend to return and get part with display panel. Please advise.
