Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Electronic Control Board (With Overlay) (Part Number: OEM18029397)

1 Answer

Mike, Check the wiring between the element and the control board. If the wiring is good then put an amp clamp on the power cord when you start the bake and see if you are drawing more than 30 amps. If it is not then it sounds like you may have a weak breaker. If it is then you are most likely looking at a control board issue.

Mom In Nw Wa for Model Number JDS9860AAP

There are two electronic circuit boards coming up on this model number, WP5760M301-60 and WP5760M302-60. Will the latter work on Serial Number 21787878GA? I have read that it works on version 17 and later (first two numbers of serial) and I look to have version 21, so I am assuming yes. My appliance repair guy quoted me 301-60 and it is a lot more, but this site seems to suggest the 302-60 will work as well, and my friend got that one for her same stove and said it worked. Please verify. The relay is broken so have that famous buzzing and elements warming but not getting hot.

Hello Jason, your model stove has an auxiliary relay mounted on the back of the stove under the rear panel. It gives the control board control over the L2 line to the bake/broil elements. Should it start to fail it typically makes a buzzing noise and does not allow the full voltage to reach the elements in oven., it is part WP74003482.
