  • Helps when the burner won't light or only lights partially
  • Replaces a corroded, clogged, or warped burner head
What's included: 1 burner head only Installation notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off gas supply before servicing
  • Allow the cooktop to cool completely
  • Lift off the grate and cap; remove the old head and align the new head on the burner base
  • Ensure ports are clean and seated correctly; test for proper ignition and flame

Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Burner Head (Ultra) (Part Number: OEM18063090)

E.P for Model Number WFG371LVB1

I believe my burner head needs replacement but I don’t understand how they go bad. My igniter works and I have gas flow but it does not ignite. I switched it with the opposite burner and it doesn’t work in its new location. The side that didn’t work now works. Could you please explain to me how they go bad as my burner does not have a pilot hole. Btw, I’ve taken all burner heads off and thoroughly cleaned them. I did not reinstall them until they were completely dry. Thanks in advance for any and all help on the subject.

EP, The sparking does not happen on the burner head itself. This would take place on the burner cap that goes over the burner head. If the cap is rusted on the bottom or dirty on the bottom it will cause the igniter to not spark properly and ignite the burner. Make sure that there is no rust or corrosion on the bottom of the burner head.

Hello Kada, check the burner's spark electrode for grease/food particles/cracks that may be shorting the spark, if needed the electrode is part WP9782116, if the spark module is weak it is part AP6015060].

David, The burner cap would not cause the flames to be higher or lower as this is dictated by the gas flow. You will want to check to make sure that the burner head and caps are clean and if they are then this would likely be a burner valve issue.

SJ, you will need to check or replace the burner gas valve WPW10206287 . There are a couple of possibilities, the locking detent in the valve may have failed and the valve stem is "locked" in place. The other and more likely issue is the lubricant/sealant inside the gas valve has "cooked away" and the valve stem has seized to the body of the gas valve and can't be moved.
