Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Electronic Control Board (Part Number: OEM16821390)

Curt for Model Number WDT910SSYM0

The dishwasher randomly will not complete the wash cycle for any of the programs. The error code referred to the diverter motor, which we replaced. However, that did not solve the problem. After hitting the start/resume button, it starts the cycle and runs less than 2 minutes and then stops and the start/resume button flashes. Sometimes, I am able to press the Drain button (it successfully always completes that task) and then Start a cycle and it will complete. Usually after 3 successful completed cycles each time by preceded the drain button function, then it quits working again. Also, we hear random clicking throughout the cycles.

Jcaldwell for Model Number Kenmore 665.12783K310

My dishwasher has been having problems for several weeks. The first problem was the light for 2-hour delay remains on constantly. Lately, it has not completed cycles. Today, I turned power off at the circuit breaker to see if it would reset the unit. That resulted in everything being inop, other than the 2-hour delay light. No buttons will light when pushed. Attempts to enter diagnostics fail. Except for delay light, it seems totally dead. I'm guessing this is a control board problem. When I go to your page to get information on this model, it says there is no information available. Suggestions?

Jcaldwell, this can be tested by disconnecting the power to the dishwasher and then removing the user interface panel. With all other wires connected, the door re-assembled (interface still unplugged) and the door open, reconnect the power supply to the dishwasher. Wait for about 10 seconds and then close the dishwasher door. If the drain pump kicks on, the issue would be in the user interface WPW10481070. If the drain pump does not kick on, the issue is in the main control W10866118.

Frank, You have to remove the outer door and the control is behind it. You can test at the drain pump for 120 vac. If you have voltage replace the pump. No voltage then the control needs replaced.

Tim

My kenmore elite 665.12783K312 dishwasher won't complete a cycle. Initially, it was throwing a 6-2 error code. I replaced the Whirlpool Inlet Valve W10327249 and cleared the code. The problem persists but at a later point in the cycle. Now when we start any wash cycle, the screen initially appears normal. After the first drain, the "Add a dish" light goes out, I can hear water flowing, and everything appears and sounds normal. Within an inconsistent amount of time, there's a click, the screen goes blank and then comes back on showing only "WASHING" and "Add a dish". All the status bars are gone. This seems to repeat indefinitely until I open the door can cancel the wash. The unit seems to drain normally. The filter outlet is not clogged. I found the heating element appeared bent, but I was able to bend it back into shape. I can feel heat coming out of the unit so I believe the element is still working properly.

1 Answer

Tim, Based on this issue the most likely cause will be a faulty main control board on the unit.

Ed, It would be recommended to check the door switch for this model. Check the switches and if they are ok then this will most likely be a faulty main control board.

Bill for Model Number WDF520PADM3

Dishwasher runs through cycle OK except that dishes are not hot (or even warm) at end of heated dry cycle. Heater has full continuity and no breaks, dents, marks or burned-on food along the calrod. High-temp thermostat tests just fine. Testing for power at the disconnected leads that would attach to the heater shows only about 2VAC during a test run. It seems like the control board would be the likely problem, but have I forgotten to test anything else? Can I test for power to the heater at the control board itself? Thanks!

1 Answer

Bill, Check the wiring between the heater and the control board and if it is ok then the issue will be that the control board is faulty. You can test the control board at the heater connection points on the board and see if there is 120 vac when calling for heater to be on.

Eleanor 427 Mustang for Model Number 655.12783K311

I walked into the kitchen the other day and every light on the door was blinking in unison while closed. Forgot about it, wife used it later and it worked for several days. Today, nothing is lit or will light and nothing works. I disconnected it from power, powered it back on and it buzzed a little then all of the bars on the bar meter flashed in unison 7 times, on the 8th flash, only 1/2 of the bars flashed, then nothing again. I tried the 123,123,123 sequence with the door open then closed it..nothing. I'm thinking it's the board, what else could it be..Thank You, Garry
