Joshua October 14, 2020 Good Day. I have replaced the pump and suspension. Ran a diagnostic and it went through every cycle. When I tried to run a normal cycle it had the same problem of not spinning and clothes came out soaking wet. Is this the CCU?
1 Answer It could be the CCU. I would take a close look at my gearcase(transmission), clutch, belts, and bearings. If present on your machine (no model number provided). These could be likely cause for the issue as well. But first I would locate the tech sheet that is inside the washer and run a diagnostics mode and see if it will give you any codes to direct your repair process . Read More...
Mike July 18, 2020 for Model Number YWFW9151YW00 I have error codes E2/F9 and E1/F9, I have checked the drain pump filter and this is clear and no clogs. What else could be the fault?
1 Answer Mike, Check to see if there is power getting to the drain motor when it should drain. If there is power and the pump is not working then the pump is faulty and would need to be replaced. If the pump is not getting 120 Vac then the board would be faulty and need to be replaced. Read More...
Jimmy January 11, 2020 for Model Number WFW9151YW00 Hi I have error codes E2 and F9, I have replaced both hot and cold water pressure switch and have checked and cleaned the drains checked all hose for clogs and all seems fine. no bad smell all clean! i did notice the water drain pump is warm to touch and all connections to control look fine any thoughts?
1 Answer Jimmy, This is what I found for your error: F9E2 - When the connection between the pump and the Central Control Unit (CCU) is lost during cycle drain. Cause/Solution - Make sure that all wire harness connections at the Drain Pump & CCU (DP2 cavity) connectors are not broken or with wires detached, and that connector internal pins are visible. - Check continuity from the Drain Pump & CCU (DP2 cavity) connectors. - If the continuity diagnosis failed, the Main Harness must be replaced. Check the resistance of the motor pump. - If the above does not correct the problem, - check the drain pump filter for foreign objects. - Disassemble the drain pump from the washer. - Check that the impeller is not detached from the motor shaft. If the impeller is detached from the shaft, is broken, or has any scratches, the drain pump must be replaced. Read More...
Lynda November 10, 2019 for Model Number YWFW9151YW00 I need to replace the control board were or what edge is the reader edge. There are no screws on top only one that is centered under neath the main panal
1 Answer Hello Lynda, Start by turning off power to the washer, disconnect the water fill hoses and drain hose if needed. Access the rear of the washer and remove the 3 T-20 screws from the top cover, pull the cover rearward and release the tabs in the console from the slots in the cover, then lift off the cover. The main control board is mounted in the front on right side near the top. The control will slide to the rear once you pry the locking tab outward slightly. Read More...
Moe November 16, 2016 for Model Number wfw9151yw My washer doesn't complete cycle. it stops at the rinse cycle. Error code is F6E1 - serial communication error between CCU and MCU. How do I determine which is bad? Also, I unplugged unit and let it sit over night unplugged. The next day is completed the wash no problem. Then next load (2nd load) did not? Does that help give any insight as to which unit is bad?
1 Answer Moe, The first thing to check would be the wiring between the main board and the motor control unit. Test the wiring for continuity and loose or corroded connections. If this checks ok then the issue will be a bad Main control board. Read More...
Larry H. October 09, 2015 for Model Number wfw9151yw00 E1 F6 codes My washer will fill and agitate but will not spin out. It quits on the rinse cycle. Will not spin. I push stop but water will pump out and the door will unlock. What board is bad? Does the MCU that work the motor?
1 Answer Hello Larry, The fault code you got is indicating a SERIAL COMMUNICATION ERROR. The communication between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the Motor Control Unit (MCU) cannot be sent correctly. As per the tech sheet: Possible Causes/Procedure - Unplug washer or disconnect power. - Check that the power cord terminals are connected at the right position to the RFI filter (white-Neutral/ black-Line). - Make sure that the two ground switches are pressed correctly by the toe and rear panels. - Make sure that ground switches are installed correctly, are not broken, and that the green ground wires are connected correctly. - Make sure that both ground switches are not broken or scratched. - Make sure that all the ground harnesses (green wires) are connected correctly, and are not broken or with wires detached. - Make sure that all wire harness connections from the CCU (MI3 cavity), main Motor, and MCU are not broken or with wires detached, and that connector internal pins are visible. - Check for continuity from the MCU connector wires to CCU (MI3 cavity) connector. - If the continuity diagnosis failed, the Main Harness must be replaced. - Make sure that all the connectors are fully seated. - Check the drive system for any worn or failed components. - Plug in washer or reconnect power. - Verify the washer operation by running the Diagnostic Test cycle. See page 5. - After the diagnostic test has finished, unplug washer or disconnect power and wait for 15 seconds. Read More...
Georgio September 09, 2015 for Model Number WFW9151YW00 Error code F6E1... Ive checked for bad connections, grounding wires & switches... I even attempted a diagnostic cycle, but upon entry, it did nothing else. So now I guess I need to figure out if the ccu or mcu is the cause... How do I go about figuring out which board I need.
1 Answer Georgio, With the unit not doing anything when it comes to the diagnostics, the issue will be with the CCU which is part number WPW10491312. Read More...
Don D February 07, 2015 for Model Number WFW9151YW00 First had error code f3 e2, checked wire, repaired broken wire. Plugged washer back in, started then 8 minutes into the cycle stopped and flashed code f1 e2. Checked wires to motor good continuity., no broken wires. Motor winding looks good motor turns easy. Plugged back in cleared codes, unplugged. Plugged back in, ran cycle, stopped again after exactly 8 minutes flashed code f1 e2 again. Is changing the ccu my next move? Thanks, Don
1 Answer Don, The CCU would most likely not be the issue with the unit but the MCU would. This is the motor control unit and the error represents a internal failure of the MCU. If all of the following checks ok then the MCU would need to be replaced. Possible Causes/Procedure - Verify the shipping system, including shipping bolts and spacers, are removed, and that power cord is out of the washer. - Check if washer is on a dedicated circuit. Other devices on same circuit can create line noise and cause this issue. - Unplug washer or disconnect power. - Check the neutral feed to the MCU and CCU from the AC line filter. - Make sure all wire harness connections between the Motor & MCU, and MCU to CCU, are not broken or with wires detached, and that connector internal pins are visible. - Make sure that all the connectors are fully seated. - Plug in washer or reconnect power. - Verify the washer operation by running the Diagnostic Test cycle. - After the diagnostic test has finished, unplug washer or disconnect power and wait for 15 second Read More...
Steve P October 22, 2014 for Model Number wfw9151yw00 I am receiving error code F3 E2 but my unit does not have a water heater -- I tested the pressure sensor and it fails the continuity test. I have ordered a new pressure sensor but am curious -- do you think the pressure sensor could cause this error code or do you think I am going to discover the CCU is bad as well?
1 Answer Steve, There is a thermistor in the unit which you will want to test to make sure that it is not faulty. The thermistor part number is WPW10467289 and the tech sheet will give you resistance values of this thermistors. Read More...
Harlan M October 05, 2014 for Model Number wfw9151w00 I have an error code of F3 E2 will this part fix it?
1 Answer Hello Harlan. If the water temperature sensor (NTC) value is out of range (23°F to 217°F [-5°C to 103°C]) during the water-heating step of the WASH cycle. Possible Causes/Procedure - Unplug washer or disconnect power. - Make sure that connections to water heater & CCU (TH2 & HE2 cavities) connectors are not broken or with wires detached, and that connector internal pins are visible. - Check continuity from the water heater sensor (black wires) to CCU (TH2 cavity) connector. - If the continuity diagnosis failed, the Main Harness must be replaced. - Check the resistance of heating element. - Check the resistance of the water sensor. - Plug in washer or reconnect power. - Verify the washer operation by running the Diagnostic Test cycle. - After the diagnostic test has finished, unplug washer or disconnect power and wait for 15 seconds.
